D’splay gave a name to his fanbase D’guys. A play on words, we VIPs were in disguise (D’guys) like Daesung was Displaying (D’splay) his drum covers. I believe it was his way of staying in touch with us.
Dae is an all rounder, does hosting stints; an actor; a musical actor too (played Rum Tum Tugger in Korea's CATS in 2009); a variety show prince as well.

Dae is not into social media (no fb, IG, tweeter etc)that's why he has created D'splay anonimously, just his personal playground where he does drum covers (including BIGBANG hits) until VIPs learned about it, imagine from few followers to hundred thousands real quick. He still posts there from time to time. And there is his official youtube channel, DAESUNG when he changed management.
Yeah Daesung was on variety shows before and is known for being hilarious. If you wanna see an mv of his I recommend "look at me gwisoon", its a trot song, which is very different from the type of music they usually perform. The mv is pretty fun and goofy. GD actually wrote and produced the song for him, which showcases even more how versatile and talented he is.
Daesung is amazing . For his 2017 solo tour he had solo concerts and he even improvised rn entire funny moment based on a fly sitting on his water bottle on stage . Zip Daesung chanel is great . He has many celebrities invited and you can hear stories from their trainee years , second generation competition between groups , stories from the military service . Daesung and Taeyang served a lot of their military service together.
During trainee days, GD was really quite harsh with the members. So he was given the nickname "Sandpaper Kwon" and other rude names. All this was brought up during a hilarious variety show called Night after Night. There was actually a 6th person who was in contention to be in Bigbang called Jang Hyun Seung. That is the guy GD was talking about who got scolded. And whenever Hyun Seung got scolded, Daesung would automatically go kneel with Hyun Seung in solidarity with him. Yeah, as a kid, kneeling when you are being scolded is a traditional thing in the old days. Probably not so now. But don't worry, even now Hyun Seung and them are good friends. Hyun Seung appeared on Zip Daesung as well.
I think you should definitely check out the Big Bang MADE the Movie (2016) which is a documentary about their world tour for the Made album. Plus, (I don't know if anyone mentioned this before in the comment section but) they also have another documentary where they show how they prepared for debut, I think it's interesting to see how the band came to be. Btw G-Dragon has been praised for his beautiful smile among other k-pop idols too, so yeah, you're correct with your observation haha Thanks for your reactions I've been enjoying them a lot! :D

I actually enjoyed the documentary, it's the only thing about them from way back then. It's definitely an "old tv" piece with a voice-over, and some of the stress they go through is quite sad. But it seems to reflect the real pressure they were under in order to form Big Bang.

The neck tattoo story is funny because GD during BigBang world tour made an apointment with his favorite tatttoo artist in New York . He was supposed to model for it , archangel Michael i think . GD didnt made it so he sent his manager 😅😅 . So basicly GD now has his former manager tattoo on him 😅. Their MADE documentary will give you a lot of info 😊
