Videos flopping hurts a lot bro. But it happens, you have to keep moving forward. Sometimes UA-cam is honestly just unlucky and gets shown to the wrong audience and it doesn't spread initially, which almost always kills it. Tragic bro. But I want to see you succeed, you just have to keep at it.
You did a good job with this young man. Nothing was a lazy sample when it came to those 2 producers YET, I can see why your opinion holds weight. This video will be up in numbers in no time. I’m 3 videos in atp 😂😂
Hip hop in the late 90s was kinda all over the place, but you did have DMX who was carrying rap in 98 and 99. Pun would've been the king of NY had he lived longer. Jay Z was the most consistent out of everyone in the rap game in terms of quality and content. He dropped an album every year from 96-03. The South had Master P, Juvnille, Hot Boys and Outkast and The West Coast still had Snoop and Dre.
One of the best rap albums ever. People it overrated but it’s legacy and impact can’t be denied. Though I’m not a Jay fan he’s still a legend in hip hop. Still my favorite Jay-Z album and speaking of still, You should do Nas’ Stillmatic next. It’s wildly considered by fans to be the rival album to Blueprint, it is just as fire and it’s also a classic.
love the vid man, bit late watchin it tho. also would be cool to see a vid on the rise fall rise fall and now rise again of nas, or maybe the kd series
Nas didnt fall off, he just had a hard year in 1999. And even then he was still selling well, Nastradamus moved almost 300k units first week & I Am was basically gold its first week. Nastradamus is what stained his career, I Am was a critical success at the time, Jay Z changed the discussion when he said what he did on Takeover
I appreciate your work here man, but some of what you write is kinda reckless and comes across like an outsider looking in. For example... *Nas never fell off.* That's just a narrative that was perpetrated by Jay z in The Takeover. But just because Jay said it, doesn't make it true. What Jay was doing was exaggerating, *(because that's what you do in a diss track),* the reality that he had emerged as a premier artist during the normal hiatus in between Nas albums. But every album Nas released after illmatic went platinum, including the one prior to the the Takeover diss.. So how's that falling off... 🤔? The other problem is your claim that Pac and Big were irreplaceable, but Nas wasn't. Is that a fact? Or is that your opinion? And if that's your opinion, then what is it grounded in? You just previously stated that there were 3 kings *(Nas, Pac, and Big).* Why then would 2 kings be irreplaceable, but not the 3rd... 🤔? Make it make sense. The reason the other 2 are deified in hip hop is because they (di- ed). That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. If that was the case for Nas, then best believe he would be looked at in the same manner, especially in 96" after Illmatic and It Was Written dropped. Again, I appreciate your videos, but you gotta be less reckless and more historically accurate in your commentary.
If you look at reviews of the time Nas had fallen off at the very least critically. And I mean yeah... opinion is opinion. Nas didn't have the personality of pac and biggie imo
@@KingBenny I can't disagree with you there. I appreciate the hard work you put into your videos, and the fact that you take these comments with a grain of salt. You got a new subscriber.
dont see this as a flop dude, its simply deliberate practice, which is litterally all that matters. the algorhythm has it own plans sometimes regardless of what you put out. Btw I'm only commenting this cause I saw someone calling this vid a flop. again, its not
I literally was listening to The Blueprint while doing exercise today, and it was pretty ironic when I was hearing "Lyrical Exercise" 😂, the chorus it's about doing exercise and I was here getting exhausted while doing mine. I'm surprised you didn't talked about "Renegade", that song has one of the greatest rap collabs I've ever heard. P.s PLEASE a video on "To Pimp A Butterfly", "Black on Both Sides" and/or "The Marshall Mathers LP", those albums are amazing.
He’s not underrated it’s just that the hate and bias towards him keeps increasing. It’s well deserved though as he be doing some messed up and shady things but I do admit people are starting to underrate his catalog nowadays but I don’t blame them.
Nas never fell off but yeah blue print was jays first universal classic BUT you are completely wrong In the late 90s jay was shadowed by the Unstoppable Juggernaut that was DMX
