Why don't both Biden and Trump take cognitive tests?
Because Biden refuses to.
The discussion among Trump has been NPD, a lot of experts have warned against his mental state, but that has no effect on cognitive tests so I don't see the need for him to take one.
Unfortunately there's a law in the US against diagnosing mental health conditions in media, which affects all English speaking online media as well, so unfortunately the discussion of NPD has been silenced since it was first raised eight years ago. But here in Norway I've seen it discussed freely, and I remember one of the top professors in the field who teaches in Yale went here to be interviewed before the first Trump election, very early on when no-one took Trump seriously. He was explaining how delighted he was that Trump was running because it's the first public person who ever exemplifies all of the symptoms of NPD, so he was using clips of Trump in his classes to give his students examples of every single symptom in one individual.
It's scary that this can't be discussed widely because NPD is literally just the scientific term for a sociopath. I think Biden is a horrible candidate, I think he probably has parkinson and dementia, but I think someone whith malignent narcissism would be even worse.
The US always have these lesser of two evils candidates, but, this year it's extreme.
It is ridiculous that one of the candidates spends all his effort on defending his mental capacity when a capable candidate would have an easy target in Trump.

But in Biden's defense...

What Biden has is decades of political savvy. He has definitely slowed physically. However, he isn't exhibiting any reduced mental incapacity.
What it really comes down to is a straight up choice between democracy and autocracy. I wouldn't care if two toy poodles were to be voted on. I would definitely choose the one espousing democracy.
