- To celebrate the reissue of "A Violent Emotion", I'm digging deep into the archives to uncover lost and forgotten gems of the past. This live performance of "Pale" was filmed during our first ever North American tour supporting Imperative Reaction and [SITD] on September 21st, 2008. This live footage has never been seen before.

In 2008 I was just a dumb sixth former in rainy England with a slightly gothy girlfriend who introduced me to this album. The relationship might not have survived very long but I'm still a massive fan of your work!

So ive been a fan since 2014. I remember searching "In This Moment - Big Bad Wolf" and a certain video came up called "Aesthetic Perfection - Big Bad Wolf". I would of been 18 or 19 when I found that video. Im 29 now and im still a major fan. For the past 3 or 4 years Aesthetic Perfection has been in top in Spotify in the year recap. Yous sounded really good back then and still sound amazing now 🖤

Back when I first listened to Aesthetic Perfection on UA-cam after Agonoize made me fall in love with EBM, the videos had pictures of Dawn of Ashes making me at first think DOA was AP at first until I watched the A Nice Place to Visit music video and was set straight.

Daniel, was this before you learned how to scream without destroying your vocal chords...??? I'd always think to myself, "In the future, this guy is going to eventually lose his voice". Nevertheless, I had watched you perform live in the clubs around Los Angeles, but I always noticed you'd avoid the 'poser' clubs along Hollywood Blvd. Yeah, sorry, that was an extremely pretentious thing to say (you know how we old-skewl Goth's can become); nonetheless, it's the truth.
Whatever happened to 'Imperative Reaction' because they made some jaw-dropping music and they stayed on my top 5 EBM/Industrial-pop bands for several years. I have all their CD's, but both you and they 'inspired' myself to get home from downtown Los Angeles to Huntington Beach during rush-hour traffic in record time. People who drive Volvos' never get tickets anyhow, because there unassuming vehicles. I had a special sound system installed just for people just like yourself ―
"The Dark Half" is still an inspiration (BTW: Thanks for the handwritten lyrics which are framed and hanging in my office) I think I'm probably 800,000 of those almost 2M views for that video.

This was my first real tour ever, and oh boy did I destroy my vocal cords every single night. I got home and couldn't speak or swallow. It was awful and what motivated me to learn how to sing and scream.
I must say, though, I *did* go to all those clubs on Hollywood Blvd. back in the day. I was constantly at Perversion, Dungeon, dB, Bar Sinister, Beat It, Tiger Heat, etc... I lived on Grace and Franklin and could literally walk to all those parties. And I did... multiple times a week!

Of course I had to watch it and well, you were already good back then, but I also can see, that you improved a lot over the years. You posted somewhere, that you hardly recognise that guy, well you were a lot younger and not so experienced. I do not find it bad, when people develop. Actually it is good, that some do and I also think that people should in general not stop at a certain age. You still have a lot of energy, so I am sure, we still will see something more and of course, you anyways "mix up" the US soon again. I really hope, you get recognised also there in the way it should be. For me, you are more than good enough Daniel. Good luck for the upcoming tour. ❤🍀
