The thing at the 7:05 isn't rev hang, it's something only Hyundai does on factory cars and it's there to allow you to do no-lift shifting. Surprised no one picked up on that... Rev hang is when the rpm takes ages to go down, not it spiking up
What you mean is flat foot shifting. But it doesn't/shouldn't work if you don't have full throttle and keeping the pedal to the metal. It usually not works with partial throttle. This car behaves the same as my Focus ST did but i tuned revhang out. Flat foot is fun tho.

the "over-revving" issue can changed, there is a setting for the revmatching. I had the same in my i30N and it also bothered me, it happened every time I shift from 1 to 2nd gear it went to max revs. A bit weird when you drive in the city in traffic everyone thinking you are driving like a maniac. In the other setting it only changes the revs with downshifts.

Taking that they're both small agile cars I'd be happy with either. Though I like the design better on the Fiesta the i20N interior is gorgeous and it's a 4-door, I'd also have it over the Fiesta.
7:05 Its called Revhang and i think the main purpose of it is so the car can pass the EURO6 test. It feels like something gives the car a little push everytime you shift. Really weird feeling. I know because i previosly owned a Ford Focus ST but tuned it out when i went Stage 3.

It's not rev hang. You literally can see the needle jump up as he shifts a little and then fall down quickly. If it was rev hang the needle would float for a bit before dropping down with each shift. When he shifts it falls down almost instantaneously.

I've got a Hyundai i20N coming in a few weeks and the race chip upgrade looks tempting however, being a Hyundai it has a 5 year warranty which I don't really want to void and also have reliability concerns. Being removable I'm guessing by doing so it becomes undetectable when I take the car in for service? Also would I need to upgrade the cooling at all for long term use in sports or race modes? Again because if I do it would invalidate the warranty etc. I want the gains but without the worry of an engine blow out etc.....
The reason to why it's keep reving after the clutch is engaged is something called a Throttle Flare and can be fixed with a software, my i10 did the same.

The software update my mechanic and others have found and installed works by telling the sensors in the intake manifold to stop sending that specific load data, which makes the rev's flare up when the clutch is engaged. I agree, it would be smart for downshift, but not upshift, when acceleration is needed.

What I hate about these chips is they add 30 hp but 85 nm at low rpm, thats not fun and just eats up the clutch. Would much rather have a chip that increases the nm gradually after say 3500rpm. Low rpm torque is not sporty, its for boring diesel cars! Chasing high revs should feel rewarding.
How is this working with the warranty? Also it looks nice, but usually if you just remap without making some parts stronger than you could kill your engine faster. So what i mean how safe is this in a long term do you have any data for that? As it sounds good but if i can throw out my i20n after a year than it is not worth.

Sorry but this is the reality. I dont really know what Mr. Albert Biermann did when at M-div but well done to him and team at N for the i20N which seems a step further to i30N

Nothing is broken, its a great function to make a car stable during gear reduction on high speed. Its more important in RWD cars though.
