I haven't watched this music video in so long & I got the same emotions as when I was 13, for the first time watching/listening to it. I will always have a love for this band especially for the older songs ❤😭
+Dario Western Because it's pretty damn hard to do without the musical ingenuity that this band possesses. Issues was under wraps pretty much up until this EP was released due to the amount of time it took for them to get this sound. Not an easy feat. Amazingly talented band. :)
+Kurt Schawacker Sounds like they all contributed quite a lot to the sound, too. Scout's solo stuff is very jazzy electronic stuff (check out Scout!'s tracks "Alki", "Midnight Donuts" and his remix of BMTH - Can You Feel My Heart, if you haven't - they go a long way to showing how he contributes to Issues in my opinion) and Tyler's obviously very R&B influenced, so it's no surprise that they've influenced the group's sound - Tyler because he's the vocalist so he's at the forefront of all the tracks, and Scout 'cause he's the producer so he has the final say on it all, basically. The rest of the band obviously contribute, too, but I don't think they're what make it such a unique sound (not that that makes them any less talented!).
I went through this in 2010. My dad was a drunk, my mom and dad were always fighting and me my mom and my brother left and went to another state. I cried every night because I just wanted to be with my dad. But we were 16 hours away from him and after 4 months we came back home and he cleaned himself up and has been sober for a little over 4 years. This song and video really touches my heart and it always gets a tear out of me.
+Torque Bow It's a story how a chain reaction would happen if someone abuses someone in his/her life. The kids will eventually bear the curse by seeing them parents as an example. In the video you can see the father of her kid in his past life, abused by his dad along with his mom. "You planted a seed, now a storm inside you" the line says she's also fucked up like what happened to his dad. "Now she's bearing another mouth you can't feed" meaning she got impregnated
man I have to admit some times I wish I could sing instead of rap sometimes but I am who I am and god made me who I am for a reason ~real music still lives~ mad respect to issues
I totally agree with you I had only heard one by them before I saw them live. When I saw them in Portland and they did this song it was nothing sort of perfect.
Ahh well, after years of trying to get better, I come back to this song when I’m having a relapse. It’s hard to grow up in a very abusive household and forcing to convince yourself that life is more than how you’re raised by your parents. Still fucked up but trying, trying so desperately no matter how hard, to have a better life. If anyone is reading this, hope we’ll get through this hell hole soon xx
never met tyler but michael (screamer) is actually really chill and super sweet and approachable. the rest of the band are insanely down to earth and they talk to you like a friend and not some kid that likes their band. probably the nicest band i've met, i was pleasantly surprised
Literally!! My and my friend waited for them to come out after the show was over and we got to chill with them for a bit! They were incredibly down to earth and friendly, they treated us like we'd known them for years. Amazing people.
I was wearing one of you're band tees last night issues and the clerk gave me my polar pop for free you guys have such a positive influence keep it up guys....
Came back here after hearing what Tyler did... I used to admire him, his open mind and his stand against violence... I wish it wasn’t true but as the band said, I believe the survivors. Tragic day for me
they said it out loud, i tried not to read what they said on social media when i used ot have it so i wouldnt know. either way, it's complete aids, stay away
+Kegan Gardner +Bryn3xt Real men defend themselves? Right,... defend themselves in what sense? Do you really need to "defend" yourself if you got hit by a women? If she hits you, and that's it... then what is there to defend against? Now maybe if they outweighed you by 300 lbs and were as aggressive as a hippo, pinned on the floor, I could understand using force to stop this person. But since everyone here seems to want to defend this moronic comment, let me phrase it to you like this. So your mom slaps you in the face for mouthing off to her, you're going to hit your Mom back? If you say no, why? Because it's your Mom? If your excuse is because it's your Mom, then your reasoning is flawed and your comment should be null and void. What you mean to say is, if a girl I don't like or care about hits me, I am going to hit her back. Which makes you a bitch. You guys are being idiotic with your reasoning. Guys who hit women are pussies. End of the story. No reasoning behind it. Ask Ray Rice how hitting his girlfriend worked out for him after she got up in his face and spit in it.
+ThatKidBryan Everyone should be equal. Just because a person's a woman, does not mean she is never wrong. If a guy does something and deserves to be hit, a woman can do the same thing and have the EXACT same consequences too. Equality Not stupidity Stop being sexist and grow up. We need to be equal.
ThatKidBryan Equality, that's why I'd hit a woman that hit me for no reason. My mom? So you have no other argument so you bring her into this? I wouldn't hit my mom back because I was mouthing off. If a woman hit me for no god damn reason, she better be expecting a hit back because I have self respect. I'm not gonna let anyone hit me for no reason.
I go back on this video and it takes me back to the negativity and place where I was at the time. 7 years later house, wife and one kiddo one the way. Lesson here is keep pushing forward, you will eventually reach the brighter side of life
I love ISSUES, the new album is simply amazing!!!!!!! I listen to to and from work every day for the past 3 weeks, I'm still not tired of it. Rock On ISSUES!!!!!!!!!
Ive been listening to this for as long as i can remember and i've been thinking about how my father lets my mother hurts me and my brother. My father cannot do anything about it because he wanted us to grow as a family yet my mother continues to be abusive. Although my situation isn't really relatable to this song i still think this helped me. I've become so much like my mom the past few years and listening to this song actually helped me realize that i don't want to end up like her. never getting tired of this
6 years later, still the same traumas i'm healing from. Same sentiments from my father and my mother has worsen. I was 17 years old when i wrote this comment and now 23. I'll soon graduate college in less than a month. I move out as soon as i can (i live in asia so culture is quite different from the west) and finally I hope i can give my 17 yo self the peace of mind away from my mother as i deserve it. it was a very bumpy ride and tbh not expecting id be alive after 21 yo. crazy but life's been good and bad. this song still speaks to me.
I am in my 2ndyear college when i first listen to this band now its been 8years and i still love this song and band even though michael and tyler are not on the band anymore.
About a year ago to the day my best friend came over to my house at around 1 in the morning, she was covered in cuts and bruises, had a split lip, a black eye, and a broken rib. She had confided in me that her boyfriend had been beating her for some time but it had never been that bad. I cleaned her up and after a lot of negotiation convinced her to tell a teacher at our school. He is currently in the state prison and we are getting ready to graduate. After a lot of therapy she was able to get better. Don't keep secrets, don't lie for him, it won't just go away... I love you Jess

I think Issues is getting labeled as "generic" or ""unoriginal" because the only collection of work they have released besides hooligans and their new single is the black diamond EP, which was rushed and put together without much care. i think that their new album is going to shut the critics up because i don't think they made the same mistake of rushing their work as their EP. Very innovative mix of R&B, pop and metalcore. Now why can't we have more bands doing stuff like this in the charts?

I’ve listened to them since they were in “Woe is me” and now I’m sitting in my car with my kids overwhelmed by my feelings for this band 🤍
This songs meaning is so deep
It made me cry at the end 😢
What is this song about exactly?
Domestic abuse about how if a man hits a women hes not a real man
And if a lady abuses a man its not correct etc
+Torque Bow It's a story how a chain reaction would happen if someone abuses someone in his/her life. The kids will eventually bear the curse by seeing them parents as an example.
