Oh so one game sticks to the roots of the series but another that is objectively closer to the first two games is bad and nothing like the others but it had slightly (but less than bk:gr) different gameplay and other people say it's bad so you have to as well
Seriously though it's closer to the other games but like gr it is just a series of minigames but it needs more skill so you people complain about it and rare didn't get to make more bk games because Microsoft thought people just didn't like the series and now I'm just here complaining about something that doesn't matter because rare innovated like normal and people don't like innovation and now I look like an r/madlad because none of this matters to anyone but me and RARE-LTD
(Also the constant exaggerated hate is what made the rare employees leave so we might never get another bk game)

To be fair, both Spyro and Crash had similar stories on their handheld versions. Decent enough games, but certainly not quite as good as their console counterparts.
Except the teamup. The teamup was arse.

For me, this was my childhood for Spyro and Crash playing the GBA games. I believe I played Crash Nitro Kart (GBA) a Spyro Game with a minigame of Chess (don't remember name), Crash 2 (GBA) and Spyro Fusion (The crash crossover).
And then apart from that it was the Gamecube games of Wrath of Cortex, Spyro Enter the Dragonfly and the Legend of Spyro…. and I guess the first and second Skylanders are other Spyro games I played since my brother had it. I mean I enjoyed it.
Still it's funny, played all these games, yet have probably never touched the games that people praised. Hope to try out the Spyro Trilogy someday though. and maybe Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled .

I have always thought this game was a bit underrated. I think the feel of the original 2 BK games translated over to handheld fairly well

Aria of sorrow had some decent themes.
I fucking Love Banjo Kazooie Grunty's Revenge. I used to play it all the time in second grade.
I actually haven't got to the Nintendo 64 games yet but Grunty's Revenge was the soul reason Banjo Kazooie was my Most Wanted character for Ultimate. (Well besides another Sonic or EarthBound character.)

I could never forget about this game! i remember having 2 copies at one point because my little brother and i used to fight over the game! So many good memories with this game

Grunty's Revenge was actually my first BK game. Fell in love with it and begged for an N64 to play the original. Fantastic choice.
Boy, you don't know how much important that game is for me. That was the first banjo game I've played, even the first game in my whole life. One day my cousin gifted me a Gameboy advance, with Pokemon emerald and gruntys revenge. Couldn't play Pokemon because it was broken, so I tried this one instead. What a good choice man. I'm southamerican so I couldn't understand the English .But this game is the one that inspired me to know more languages. (Now I know how to speak 4) This was also the first game I completed 100%. Finding kazooie the first time just surprised me and the many moves I was able to make with her made me feel powerful. Finding all the notes or jinjos was my goal for every world. The search of the last 3 notes was very hard (those were hidden in the overworld) I also remember exploring the ocean and finding out that the phantom pirate ship of was destroyed there. Spiller Harbour theme was my favorite and believe me how much I loved to sit and listen to it. Defeating mecha-Grunty was really hard for me (specially in the quiz part) but the satisfaction of finishing the game was enormous. I'll never forget the credits minigame, which I though was the best reward for all my effort

Oh my gosh! This just showed up on my recommended, and I've been working on a video for Grunty's Revenge too! haha. Glad other people remember it! I just beat it again a few days ago in just a few hours and forgot how short it is, but I remember it being so impressive to me when I was in middle school. Ok. Time for me to stop rambling and see what you have to say about this!

got this game in a bargain bin at some grocery store as a kid...I was a huge Banjo fan, and there being another game kinda blew my mind, had a really good time with it!

I played this not long ago over on my joint let's play channel, I had the game when I was much younger, got it for Christmas one year and the opinion I hold for it even to this day is that for what it is, a Game Boy Advance translation of the Banjo-Kazooie formula, much like most of the the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot GBA titles, they're about as good as you could probably get from such a thing.

I just saw Rare posting their answer from 20 years ago, they created a draft of the story first but then they decided Mumbo looked better with the skull and decided to not change him. However they forgot to change that aspect of the story.

I played banjo kazooie when my cousin bought it when it was a brand new game, and I've always loved it. We both loved the series and I remember when he first bought grunty's revenge I remember playing it and not really being into it. However I bought a copy about a year ago just to see if I would like it after all these years and I must say, I really was impressed how much it felt like banjo considering the hardware. It's a good game even though it's not as good as it's n64 counterparts.
I really liked this game. I just graduated from high school and loved the banjo game. I saw this game cheap and picked it up. It was short and I beat it that day. I was disappointed but I did 100%. I kept going back to it and 100% it. Currently replaying this game and am at the third world.

I never played any of the Banjo-Kazooie games, let alone heard of them, so Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be my first experience with them. But I do want to at least find Nuts & Bolts.

-Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
While 4 of them are vehicle/racing games:
-Diddy Kong Racing
-Banjo Pilot
-Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
-Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Banjo & Kazooie
Which means Banjo is now more of a racing game character then a plattformer character.
I've never actually played Banjo Kazooie or Banjo Tooie, but I grew up with Grunty's Revenge on my GBA.
So I still got overwhelming nostalgia from the smash reveal like everybody else. Just from this Diamond in the rough

Those old phones were amazing with sounds and music! With the music note composer function, you could manually code/program almost any song and create your own ringtone! Anyone else remember programming the theme song for Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, Mission Impossible, or even Coca Cola?
I will never forget this game. The last boss was such a pain in the ass to fight. it took me three days to beat gruntilda alone. I do miss the game tho

Hehehe, I never forgot this game. It's the one Banjo game I never beat. I just couldn't do the 2D, top-down platforming it required. I remember getting stuck on a minigame and unable to pass it after a few days, I gave up. I was just a kid at the time... x.x
