Had an apprenticeship for a few weeks. One evening we opened that days wood kiln und packed the pieces into the working space (slept right above) woke up from a pot’s cracking sound so I went downstairs to check which one broke but nothing did. It was just so loud hours later

Loving the Pots! I hope you got out of that room quickly, and got yourself plenty of water/energy drinks. I used to live in a climate where the summers got to 110F. Unfortunately, the body can lose a litre of body water in 10 minutes, making you feel really ill. Take care of yourself. 😊

Love watching and learning from you and others. Saw a video where you went to see a young man that did Pottery and I don’t know if he was in Tennessee or one of the Carolinas and you visited to see an outdoor huge wood? kiln and helped him with it and learned a lot about it. Could you give me his name I’m going to Tennessee and I’m thinking he’s there and I would like to go see where he is and what he does.

love the insanity mugs- how do you make sure the stilts don't leave holes that would make it non-food safe?

You put underglaze over glaze and it adds color but sinks and and stays smooth? Or is it stroke and coat type underglaze?

Hi Jon! You mentioned some of the pots had wavy bottoms rather than just a smooth, trimmed bottom. It would be awesome to see a video/tutorial of that!
P.S. The pots looked awesome! 😁

Just cut it off with a wiggly wire. You can spin the wheel slow as you cut it and it will swirl the bottom as well

@@patti7805 he has 2 sizes of stilts & the tallest 1 wasn't tall enough to hold the mug off of the bottom plate so he uses a tall 1 with a short 1on top of it to hold the mug up. Sometimes it does get stuck & needs a bit of help getting loose. I'm not a potter (although I would love to be) but I have watched many videos.
