This got me so excited, my heart leaps up. So emotional to the point of tears. The blankets remind me of my father... the time that I was a little girl so cozy in a lovely home with loving caring parents. I feel that I am in the transition of the old and the new, I love them both. 56 yo from Buenos Aires City - Argentina. Claudia - It is pleasantly surprising that we have so much in common considering the distance and culture. Love all the things that find the way to you Claire!!! 💕 Thank you so much for this memorabilia and a heart full of love...
They are often of excellent quality. I'm using one of them as the wadding in a quilt I'm currently making. Aside from a few stains, it was in perfect condition.
These are wonderful. I think you should clean the picture glass and mirror glass but then stop. The imperfections in the frames, and the damage in the fabric screen are just a reminder of their use and long life. Beauty marks. They add character to your lovely country home. I think they are perfect even with their imperfections. You have an eye for beauty and very good taste. Happy decorating!
Thank you! I think they're wonderful too and yes, I like to leave things as much as possible because it shows the history, but I try to ensure they're safe from further deterioration.
Gorgeous finds. I love love the screen. The fabric is amazing. I just bough a same kind of screen for 5 Euro at our local brocante. I think I made a happy dance when I saw it. 🙂
Wow, what amazing finds The blankets were a steal at £4 each. The paintings were beautiful. I love textiles and even though the curtains were frayed at the edges, the colours were still very bright and they were my favourite of your bargains. The screen was lovely too and the worn bits just showed it had been loved wherever it had been. Unusual I thought it had fabric on both the front and back. Obviously whoever it was made for originally had money to do both sides! Thank you for sharing your finds and it will be exciting to see where you put them. Sophie
Hi Sophie, I love the fabric from the curtains too. We will be decorating a guest bedroom at some point and I plan to use the fabric in that room. I'm having an internal debate about the screen - it might be too nice to use for hiding the water tank in our laundry room.

Ah, this is interesting! I was told it was a watercolour but when looking at the area with the little white flowers I thought it didn't look so. Thank you for giving your opinion - I will investigate ;-)

Hi Claudia, thank you for the lovely comment and for sharing your memories. Nostalgia can be a bittersweet thing to feel. 💜
I also collect woolen blankets and any material that catches my eye because I chrochet rag rugs from linen. Loved your purchases, thanks for sharing

Hi there, the first painting you showed isn’t a watercolour, it’s probably an oil painting. I am a watercolour artist and that is my view.
