Simple, functional and beautiful. Also a heck of a lot stronger for retaining items in the lockers. The vertical orientation initially surprised me until I saw the ceiling boards and the bamboo nicely brightens up the saloon. Over time it'll probably take on more of a sepia tone, thus you might want to store a few pieces so if repairs are needed they'll have have the same look. : )
Thank you! The other reason for the vertical orientation is to reduce the amount of surfaces for dust to collect on. I wanted to match the ceilings but I also wanted to keep it easier to maintain clean! I have about 200 extra pieces left over that I will allow to continue to age with the doors as spares.

Just in case you want to source parts, a boat salvage and parts company across the bridge in Stevensville (?) is currently "processing" an Alberg 30. (Josh at Anchors and Oars) They may have some parts you are looking for. (11/27/23)

Interesting idea. The rattan looked like it was varnished. Are you going to varnish the bamboo or leave it natural? Will it darken naturally over time?
I was going to varnish it but it looked nice so I left it natural. I do not know what it will do over the years but we will find out together!

Exactly! I lived with that big tear for 10 years but when the birds chewed the holes, that was the last draw.
I was ok with it until I saw it in our videos and suddenly the priority of that project jumped!
