I always wanted to have a dad flying business on the same plane just to convince him to change seats with me or to convince the airplane staff to give me (as a child) the same business meals at the seat of my dad...
The first time I ever saw this practice of parents flying in business and children in economy was on a Middle-Eastern airline. I decided to give it a go on a future flight. Needless to say, after about 1 hour into the flight, I was "forced" to give up my business class seat. On a subsequent flight, it was business class for all. This time, a classmate of my daughters happened to be on the flight, so she went back and spent the whole flight in economy. You can never win with you kids:)))
