I've also heard some interpretations of that Sonic.exe is just toying with us and that's why he kicked the skull at BF and looked at the screen directly saying "You're boring me." as well.
Fun fact. the song changes if you play with botplay enabled. instead of asking if you want to play with him. he says you should do this again some time when your feeling more "Up to it" in a sassy/pissed off tone. and ends without the song resetting

As a researcher of the .exe-verse I genuinely cannot believe how many people fell for this,if you EVER see a sonic,eyes closed,back turned towards you,maybe even arms crossed,y’all should already KNOW that ain’t sonic.
I also realized something: back in the start menu, before going to the main menu, Sonic's microphone was red. In the original Sonic.exe mod, the cutscenes before the first song had Sonic.exe summoning a red microphone
The reactions would be so much better if this was the first mod of sonic to include sonic.exe but with every 9 of 10 mods of sonic being related to exe its just predictable at this point

To be honest, a lot of Sonic mods exist out there, without being related or including Sonic.exe, and most Sonic.exe mods wear their presentation proudly on their sleeve, but this one hides in a genuinely convincing way, AND is basically a "reboot" of the official Sonic.exe mod from way back with better devs and stronger support behind the project, so this one has more merit to it than the others.
