The way Liam encourages the average DIYer to give this a go is so inspiring. I don't have the space at the moment for a garden room but it's going to happen one day. I bought a build pack just for bedtime reading 😂
Couldn't be more correct about the tools, I brought loads of tools that I thought I needed to build my garden room / shed and didn't use hardly any of them. I only really used, Makita impact driver (100mm screws for pretty much everything) / hand saw / mitre saw / soft brush (for rubber roof) I thought I would give it a go and the result is fantastic. Built it all by myself (only needed a pair of hands to help lift the walls (because a 4.5m wall is hard to lift on your own) and I had to get someone in to do the electrics. Took me about a week to get the building watertight and with the doors and window in. Thanks to the videos on YT from this channel I knew how to do it. GET A BUILD PACK IF YOU WANT TO BUILD ONE!! Finally I spent around £7000 that is because it's more of a shed to me then a garden room. So I didn't buy a lot of insulation which cut the cost down. Keep up the great videos!
Hi Liam, it's really good to see you, John and Davey, back on site doing what you do best. Hopefully, some more work comes your way on the back of this informative garden room build. 👍🏻
It's incredible to get to this stage for about £3k. My 7x4 build plan keeps changing in my head with add-ons, pergolas or side shed space etc. Totally doable, can't wait to get cracking next spring.
Great videos Liam as you inspire confidence to have a go. Did all the internal work on my garden mancave myself and saved a fortune and improved my DIY skills as well!!😂
Brilliant yet again guys. Many thanks for your videos on this build. Particularly interested in the French doors you're going to install. As far as I know I've not seen you in any of your previous videos fit French doors. Obviously same principle as bifold in a way but very interested in seeing you guys fit them and the windows. Thinking of French doors and casement window at front of my build in Spring 2025.
Love your videos! They are excellent for a DIY builder. I wish I had these videos years ago . The build packs will be very useful and will save time and at least a thousand off the cost. A suggestion is to approach a good builders merchant and get an affiliate program up and running for the materials Great stuff 👍
Love this series, it has given me confidence to have a go and build my mancave, cant wait to move to get it started, on another note... Liam how many times do you say 'like i say'? Can wait for seeing the rest and the big challenge of doing it myself. Keep it going pal
For the LED transformer, you can get Din rail mounted transformers so you can have them in the consumer unit, usually they take 2 spaces in the consumer unit. readily available, might be of use to you for future builds
@@thegardenroomguru it’s always a challenge finding somewhere to hide an led driver, somewhere it doesn’t ruin the aesthetics of the room etc Din mounted in a big house you’ve gotta start worrying about the volt drop as well, but in a garden room the runs plenty short enough so you’ll always be sound
Just a quick couple questions 1 why did you just board with chipboard and screw in sides ad that's not a very good fixing why not ask the owner for there tv bracket and place noggins at that specific area for better stronger finish 2nd your consumer unit why have you used an rcd board instead of going with a nice rcbo unit more modern and fully 18th edition compliant ? Love the videos shame you couldn't.keel up the good work doing loads of installs?
modern tvs don't weigh what they used to mate, when this is behind the plater board its bullet proof, I'm qualified to install but I'm no electrician, rcbo is a good shout, this will be my last build however, so wont be going down that road again, might put one in the duplicate pod we are going to make in the new unit though

You crack me up at the speed you work Liam, its like watching someone work in fast forward mode 😂
Brilliantly put together, brilliantly explained and brilliantly filmed by Davey as well 10/10

Great video, thanks
I’d love to have a crack at one of these…just need to convince the Mrs
Hey Liam. Another great video. For the P trim, do you bother with the sealant or foam tape? Or ok as is?
we've never bothered with it mate, your going to get rain on your fascia anyway so any seepage wont be an issue.
Another great video. Do you have any opinion on supersip rooms?

Hey Liam, do you have a link for hose low profile downlights please mate?
Bloody Northern Building Plastics. Nice to know they've remained... consistent 😂
Liam, out of curiosity how long would it take two people to build a typical medium sized room?
me and John used to do them in around 10 days all in mate
Worrying watching John near the edge of that 20ft drop ! life is to short to take chances. PS Take care John.
Fusebox (brand)do a bezel to allow you to semi-recess your consumer unit to any depth
Liam what's the other group called for selling garden room bits and pieces cheers mate

how much did you charge
For what mate
First
The worst job, cutting the insulation. Felt like I was in a Colombian drug den...
Impregnate your roof???😂
