Watched the movie it was quite entertaining. It’s so refreshing to see such a great comedic character that is neither a punching bag strawman, nor an overly self-aware banterer. The movie wasn’t entirely flawless, but it had a lot of green comedic moments and a lot of love and effort put into it from everyone involved.
Watching Onyx the Fortuitous and Talisman of Souls was like wrapping myself in a cozy blanket on a frosty winter morning. Directed by Andrew Bowser, who also stars as the quirky and endearing Onyx, this film is a heartwarming delight that feels like a long-awaited hug from a dear friend. From the very beginning, the movie enveloped me in a sense of joy and comfort akin to waking up on Christmas morning. The whimsical world of Onyx is filled with a charming, almost nostalgic magic that instantly transports you to simpler, happier times. Andrew Bowser's portrayal of Onyx is nothing short of delightful, capturing the essence of a character who is both earnest and adorably eccentric. The film's narrative unfolds like a comforting storybook tale, where every scene is imbued with a sense of warmth and familiarity. The plot, revolving around the mysterious and magical Talisman of Souls, weaves together elements of adventure and fantasy in a way that is both captivating and soothing. Each twist and turn in the story feels like a playful nudge, guiding you through a world that is as enchanting as it is endearing. Watching Onyx navigate his fantastical journey brought back memories of childhood wonder, reminiscent of the excitement and coziness of unwrapping presents under the twinkling lights of a Christmas tree. The movie's whimsical humor and heartfelt moments are like the comforting aroma of homemade chicken soup, lovingly prepared by grandma when you were feeling under the weather. It's a film that wraps you in its embrace, offering a sense of solace and joy that lingers long after the credits roll. Andrew Bowser's direction is both imaginative and thoughtful, creating a cinematic experience that is as visually delightful as it is emotionally resonant. The supporting cast adds layers of charm and humor, each character contributing to the film's overall sense of camaraderie and warmth. The visual effects, while fantastical, are grounded in a way that enhances the film's comforting atmosphere, making the magical elements feel like a natural extension of the world we all wish we could escape to. In essence, Onyx the Fortuitous and Talisman of Souls is a heartwarming journey that feels like a nostalgic dream come true. It's a movie that reminds us of the simple joys in life and the magic that can be found in the most unexpected places. Watching it is like being wrapped in the loving arms of a cherished memory, a testament to the power of storytelling and the comfort it can bring. An instant classic in my humble opinion.
Even paying for an "Unlimited" theater membership, I have not watched Night Swim. I would love to watch more of Noelle though! How does Onyx find such fantastic femme fatales to collaborate with I wonder?
Rant: Touch of tism Satan larper is modern comedy gold and not enough people know it yet. Andrew Bowser is an actual genius (perhaps empowered by the old ones), and geez I'd give my left nut to work with and learn from people like you/him, or whatever ha ha. You're inspiring. Talisman of Souls was TRULY one of the best movies I've ever seen. Literally just watched it and was so blown away it's got me doing research on your recent work. The writing, the satire, the sarcasm, the kooky dumb Napoleon Dynamite-esque angles and cuts lol, all of it. For a movie with a budget of about $700k, I was blown away by the effects and cinematography. The monsters were truly terrifying on a primal and subconscious level. What a ride. To write and act as your own main character is already insane, but to direct the thing as well and for it to come out as well as it did... absolute genius. Only two movies I've ever memorized. Only TWO movies were so good and addicting, to me, that I kept them in my database. They are/were Henson's Labyrinth, and Tenacious D's Pick of Destiny. No joke. Talisman of Souls is so quotable I'm already planning to watch it again later to attempt to keep these quotes in my gnoggin. PS: Sorry for not knowing who I was writing all of that to. Kind of a stream of consciousness thing I guess.
Loved the movie but shadow zone is my favorite by far and i would geek out so hard if it were to run another season or ten idk Onyx movies are pretty cool
Finally sat down and watched your film last night... I f'n loved it!! I'm not a horror fan but my Mom and brother were/are so I think I got most of the references 😊. Wholesome Horror as a new genre? Can’t get enough of Onyx!! What an amazing character.
She's looking at the camera like "I don't get paid enough for this."
and she sells that because she's a brilliant actress.
"Goodness is a choice, not a result" wisdom can come from the strangest places.
