Its actually not strategic tho. Ellie could've just ignored Lake's vote and voted for Aiden,since its still 3 votes and he would've been eliminated. And next as shown here,Tess would vote for Tom,so they dont have to worry about the numbers. Getting rid of Lake was stupid. Especially that now Tess AND surprisingly Gabby might not be so loyal to Ellie.

I dunno about main antagonist, but she's definitely in the villain camp. Riya and Yul are both still here, and Fiore is still a demon spawn. Plus, I doubt she's going to make it as far as she did season 1
Personally, I know this sounds messed up, but I like that the writers make Jake unlikable. It's very rare to find LGBTQ+ individuals portrayed with negative attributes in media, so they often come off as a pandering stereotype that satisfies no one at all. The writers do play a dangerous game of making Jake too unlikable to the point that people could get outraged if he ends up happy. However, they make Jake, and various other LGBTQ+ reps on the show feel like genuine human beings with flaws. That's what I like about this show's writing, it's not afraid to have anyone and everyone be portrayed negatively, so they all can be layered individuals that we can form our own opinions on. Who you like in this series isn't who the writers want you to like, it's truly who you think resonates and deserves to be liked the most.
I'm outrage that Ellie got Lake eliminated. I don't blame Tess or Tom for their decisions. I hope the misunderstanding between Jake & Aiden clears up. Before things get truly ugly
people are talking about ellies (honestly amazingly) strategic move but i dont see enough people talking about alecs plan to get cyan team to lose. i mean i feel like alecs plan is going to be the key into many plotlines.
Some of my thoughts on the episode: Alec is really interesting so far. He's continuing to help Fiore (who really needs it) on the side while branching out and trying to help Connor with his issues. He was also the cause for Cyan team's loss since it was his idea to sabotage them. He's quietly being one of the Yellow Team's best players, and I'm interested in where his character is headed. Yul and Riya are at each other's throats, which isn't a surprise. Honestly, I'm kinda shocked the Yellow Team is the only team that hasn't lost a member yet considering how many characters are ones you wouldn't expect to work well with each other. But how long will that last with Connor being rejected by Riya and Yul and Riya constantly fighting? Only time will tell. If Riya keeps this up, she might not last much longer. Ellie really is continuing her "win at all costs" mentality from the end of season 1 when she lied to Jake and helped cause Tom's elimination. I feel like Gabby isn't going to tolerate that kind of stuff forever, so I'm curious to see how she responds. Now it looks like the Cyan Team is Tom and Aiden vs Ellie and Gabby with Tess in a tough spot. She hasn't even gotten to talk to Hunter and Ally about their problems yet, so maybe she'll shift her focus to that soon? Not much of Hunter and Ally this episode, but they're still not on the same page, and things are heading south. Is it me, or is Hunter way more of a jerk than he was last season? Yul not letting Grett touch him is confusing to me considering they kissed on the plane in episode 1. Something weird is going on there, but it's too early for me to say what it is yet. Yeesh, these first two episodes have sucked for Aiden. James and Lake being the first 2 boots means Tom is pretty much his only ally left. Plus, he still doesn't know what happened between James and Jake yet. It's an interesting writing decision to hold off on that for now and focus on Jake and Aiden's current friendships with Ashley and Tom. Things are gonna get messy eventually though, we all know it's coming. Another really good episode! Glad that I found this series and I look forward to the rest of the season.

Riya has this mean persona of hers, and she obviously doesn't want to hurt Connor. But now, Connor is...well, let's just say from now on he'll probably vote for anyone, even for Riya. - New beef unlocked! Lake and Ellie 🔥 Lowkey didn't except her to be eliminated that way but eh. I am LIVING for the Tom character development arc! I'm really hoping that he'll get all of his feelings sorted out and comes out of this competition a stronger man than he was. Winner or not, I love Tom
Yul is such an icon and is hilarious even tho he's annoying. I love how he said "DoNt ToUcH mE". Also Ashley and Jake are so good together and not in that kind of way I'm talking as friends. They support each other so well.
I have to admit, I was not expecting the cyan team to lose so soon, let alone Lake be the one eliminated. She was one of the characters that I thought would have at least made the merge.

I dont like Jake much but i LOVE JAKE and ASHLEY's friendship that is developing. I always felt like Ellie never was Jake's friend. He has no one he can trust without Miriam. Im glad Ashley is a good person.
THEY DID HER DIRTY 😭 but like the only reason she is gone is because Tom and aiden and Ellie all have plot armor and seeing them gone probably would ruin it - but still Edit: 1. What I mean by Ellie’s plot armor is her alliance and relationship with Tom - even then maybe she could be eliminated 2. Okay maybe they didn’t do her dirty but they eliminated her too early- in my opinion. She did get her development in season 2 but I wanted to see her make new dynamics with the season one cast Also for a reply this got quite a bit of likes
Honestly I am not surprised. She barely had any storylines since first episode and for some reason everybody think she and Tess will go far meanwhile Tess came here mostly for hunter and ally

Fiore is my girl I love her and I like that she is safe for now. People were really thinking she was going down in the pre merge and now she can play swing vote and is in the best position in her tribe
Riya having a fear underwater reminds me of Josè from RR. I just realised BOTH of these characters hate coming in 2nd place and they were both saved by protagonists that don't really like them( MacArthur, Rosa Maria) My fav parts 1.Connor and Alec talk 2.The staff playing a board game 1.Trevor hitting Derek for including the sharks and calling him silly. 3.Fiore roasting Marcus 4.cyan girls working together 5.Alec helping Fiore .
An absolutely phenomenal episode full of dramatic highs and intense intrapersonal lows…. I can’t WAIT to see how this turns out 😈. Voicing Yul this episode was so fun, who doesn’t love yelling??! HOLD OUT HOPE!!!

S1 Ellie seemed like a good person that was simply making smart decisions in bad situations. This Ellie is playing to win, that will bring out the darkest parts of her. PS. Riya grabbing Yul's hair and threatening him was the best part.

So by that we can link something: - Connor might be Alec’s ally. - Miriam respects Alec strategies and might be his ally. - Yul might be using Greet - Yul and Greet Will probably break up - Riya is going to be the first boot by vote (I am saying that because Miriam might go out due sickness) - Greet or Yul will leave before the merge - Ally might break up with Hunter - If they break up soon, Hunter Will be out. If not, Ashley is out - Gabby is definitely the most safe person in Cyan team. Nor Tom or Ellie Will vote for her. - Tom is not getting out until he and Jake are officially done. They dont even interact so he is not going home in the NeXT 5 episodes - Aiden is probably staying too. He is necessary for Jake’s bullshit. Opinion: I think Ellie should lose (betrayed) by someone. From my understanding of the season so far, I don’t actually think that Yul is straight. Yul has very stereotypical gay features which led a lot of people to believe he was actually gay, but the existence of his relationship with Grett and homophobic comments has led a lot of people to believe otherwise. However, I think this is intentional. It’s a very common trope for closeted people to be outwardly homophobic, if you want any proof go look up politicians in the closet and see what you find lmao. This combined with how Yul didn’t like it when Grett touched him leads me to believe he doesn’t actually like her and is secretly in the closet. I predict this will be explored more in a later episode.
Wait but odd nation had put out a banner of all their LGBTQ+ characters and Yul was not in there. My theory is that he would slowly lose interest in Grett and push her away due to the stress of the game.
Do you wanna know who I hate of all the characters? No one. I think the characters are all amazing in their own role, because we learn things from all of them: their reasons to win, their insecurities, their pasts and everything that makes them the person they are. I know that there are moments that hurt very much when they betray or manipulate the others and maybe in the end nothing changes in their personalities at all, but still I think everyone on this show deserves credit, hero or villain. Of course I would be very happy if they see their errors, make a effort to redeem themselves and reconcile with the ones they hurt, but can I say? Every episode is unpredictable and that's what makes this show and the characters awesome.
I hate jake because he says he WANTS to change and do things differently. But wanting is different from DOING the change. Its clear he still WANTS to change.
Ellie made a very smart move I get her reasoning although I do think her execution was really bad. Being the forefront of taking out Lake completely shatters any trust Ellie will have with Aidan. With the way Ellie handled taking out Lake it also makes Tess more weary of Ellie. If cyan loses again I think it means that Tom going to be the swing vote which is really interesting cause he has a friendship with gabby and a close bond with Aidan
Yep she kinda screwed herself with the execution. Next time Cyan loses she’s out. Aiden and Tom are gonna vote for her, and I can see Tess or Gabby flipping on her. Great move but bad execution, she should’ve made it a secret 3-2-1 vote instead of causing chaos

All I’m saying is y’all hate on Jake when he makes a fucked up mood out of emotion but turn the other cheek when Ellie does it with the coldest heart. I love them both but I’m just saying I’d prefer someone dramatic over someone who will stab you in the back just to get further.
The difference is it's a game. Just going to reference survivor because this and total drama are both parodies of it but there have been numerous seasons where players have lied and stabbed people in the back to get to the end and the grand prize. A game like this is about deception and finding the best ways to get farther into the game. Even when the season villains win in survivor it's more often then not because the other players realize that they did outplay them with their game. Jake's crap is literally just personal problems that can be solved by therapy and self reflection. Ellie is playing the game to win. I will say I do enjoy Jake because he brings the drama but his trust issues are very misguided and has no actual strategy in the game. He plays by emotion which is just messy gameplay. Ellie saw that and used it to her advantage in the first season and it got her to the final 3. She knows how to play the game.

People putting their emotional attachment to the characters is a double edge sword in writing. I didn’t want Lake to go. But I value Ellie’s character progression more than Lake being cute and friendly. With her out, our resources on “nice characters.” Are spread thin. We shall see what the writers have in story.
Strategically this was an amazing move, but I will admit as an Ellie defender that this could’ve been handled a lot better. Now Gabby doesn’t trust her as much and she put a target on her back but I respect that Ellie has taken matters into her own hands and is thinking out of the box. I hope people don’t hate on her, this was such a fun and unexpected move, and kicked out a relatively boring character early which is nice

Could you blame him? He knew the votes were going to be between Ellie or Lake. Between the two, voting off Lake was the smarter option. If Ellie was voted off, there's no guarantee Tom would be safe if their team ever found themselves in another elimination ceremony. Tess, Lake, and Aiden are all good friends. Gabby's outgoing and friendly personality might dissuade Lake and Tess from voting her out and Lake has shown that she was willing to vote him off that round so who's to say she wouldn't try again. In that event, it could be 3 people against him. If Lake was voted off, he could try persuading Tess to vote with him and Aiden now that Ellie had shown her more cold and ruthless side. Not the best situation but a lot better than the former.
Also I’m loving Alec this season I think he’s playing a very smart game he not only caused James to be eliminated and protect fiore but he also used Miriam to help cause cyan to lose
I was worried Miriam would get herself killed after faking a heart attack in the first season. Now she pretends she's going to drown. I'm fairly certain she's going to break something and be abandoned because no one will believe her.

Personally, I know this sounds messed up, but I like that the writers make Jake unlikable. It's very rare to find LGBTQ+ individuals portrayed with negative attributes in media, so they often come off as a pandering stereotype that satisfies no one at all. The writers do play a dangerous game of making Jake too unlikable to the point that people could get outraged if he ends up happy. However, they make Jake, and various other LGBTQ+ reps on the show feel like genuine human beings with flaws. That's what I like about this show's writing, it's not afraid to have anyone and everyone be portrayed negatively, so they all can be layered individuals that we can form our own opinions on. Who you like in this series isn't who the writers want you to like, it's truly who you think resonates and deserves to be liked the most.

Some of my thoughts on the episode:
Alec is really interesting so far. He's continuing to help Fiore (who really needs it) on the side while branching out and trying to help Connor with his issues. He was also the cause for Cyan team's loss since it was his idea to sabotage them. He's quietly being one of the Yellow Team's best players, and I'm interested in where his character is headed.
Yul and Riya are at each other's throats, which isn't a surprise. Honestly, I'm kinda shocked the Yellow Team is the only team that hasn't lost a member yet considering how many characters are ones you wouldn't expect to work well with each other. But how long will that last with Connor being rejected by Riya and Yul and Riya constantly fighting? Only time will tell. If Riya keeps this up, she might not last much longer.
Ellie really is continuing her "win at all costs" mentality from the end of season 1 when she lied to Jake and helped cause Tom's elimination. I feel like Gabby isn't going to tolerate that kind of stuff forever, so I'm curious to see how she responds. Now it looks like the Cyan Team is Tom and Aiden vs Ellie and Gabby with Tess in a tough spot. She hasn't even gotten to talk to Hunter and Ally about their problems yet, so maybe she'll shift her focus to that soon?
Not much of Hunter and Ally this episode, but they're still not on the same page, and things are heading south. Is it me, or is Hunter way more of a jerk than he was last season?
Yul not letting Grett touch him is confusing to me considering they kissed on the plane in episode 1. Something weird is going on there, but it's too early for me to say what it is yet.
Yeesh, these first two episodes have sucked for Aiden. James and Lake being the first 2 boots means Tom is pretty much his only ally left. Plus, he still doesn't know what happened between James and Jake yet. It's an interesting writing decision to hold off on that for now and focus on Jake and Aiden's current friendships with Ashley and Tom. Things are gonna get messy eventually though, we all know it's coming.
Another really good episode! Glad that I found this series and I look forward to the rest of the season.

In all honestly, i knew that this would have happened. Riya has this mean persona of hers, and she obviously doesn't want to hurt Connor. But now, Connor is...well, let's just say from now on he'll probably vote for anyone, even for Riya.

From my understanding of the season so far, I don’t actually think that Yul is straight. Yul has very stereotypical gay features which led a lot of people to believe he was actually gay, but the existence of his relationship with Grett and homophobic comments has led a lot of people to believe otherwise.
However, I think this is intentional. It’s a very common trope for closeted people to be outwardly homophobic, if you want any proof go look up politicians in the closet and see what you find lmao.
This combined with how Yul didn’t like it when Grett touched him leads me to believe he doesn’t actually like her and is secretly in the closet. I predict this will be explored more in a later episode.
Wait but odd nation had put out a banner of all their LGBTQ+ characters and Yul was not in there. My theory is that he would slowly lose interest in Grett and push her away due to the stress of the game.

No one.
I think the characters are all amazing in their own role, because we learn things from all of them: their reasons to win, their insecurities, their pasts and everything that makes them the person they are. I know that there are moments that hurt very much when they betray or manipulate the others and maybe in the end nothing changes in their personalities at all, but still I think everyone on this show deserves credit, hero or villain. Of course I would be very happy if they see their errors, make a effort to redeem themselves and reconcile with the ones they hurt, but can I say? Every episode is unpredictable and that's what makes this show and the characters awesome.
I hate jake because he says he WANTS to change and do things differently. But wanting is different from DOING the change. Its clear he still WANTS to change.
Ellie made a very smart move I get her reasoning although I do think her execution was really bad. Being the forefront of taking out Lake completely shatters any trust Ellie will have with Aidan. With the way Ellie handled taking out Lake it also makes Tess more weary of Ellie. If cyan loses again I think it means that Tom going to be the swing vote which is really interesting cause he has a friendship with gabby and a close bond with Aidan

I think her downfall was admitting she wanted Tom gone if she had just denied everything and say that Ellie was pushing for the girls to vote for Tom or Aidan Ellie would’ve been gone for sure

If it wasn't for Alec both James and Lake would have gotten far into the competition and Fiore would been the first one out

All I’m saying is y’all hate on Jake when he makes a fucked up mood out of emotion but turn the other cheek when Ellie does it with the coldest heart.
I love them both but I’m just saying I’d prefer someone dramatic over someone who will stab you in the back just to get further.
You wouldn’t be saying that if someone like that wanted to get back a you for talking to his ex.
The difference is it's a game. Just going to reference survivor because this and total drama are both parodies of it but there have been numerous seasons where players have lied and stabbed people in the back to get to the end and the grand prize. A game like this is about deception and finding the best ways to get farther into the game. Even when the season villains win in survivor it's more often then not because the other players realize that they did outplay them with their game. Jake's crap is literally just personal problems that can be solved by therapy and self reflection. Ellie is playing the game to win.
I will say I do enjoy Jake because he brings the drama but his trust issues are very misguided and has no actual strategy in the game. He plays by emotion which is just messy gameplay. Ellie saw that and used it to her advantage in the first season and it got her to the final 3. She knows how to play the game.
What Ellie did was strategic, what Jake did was emotional and for payback towards this person he’s barley talked to yet

ok many people hate Ellie for what she did BUT I RESPECT IT, it was a smart move and now i wanna see her and Tom become friends again!
People putting their emotional attachment to the characters is a double edge sword in writing.
I didn’t want Lake to go. But I value Ellie’s character progression more than Lake being cute and friendly.
With her out, our resources on “nice characters.” Are spread thin.
We shall see what the writers have in story.
Strategically this was an amazing move, but I will admit as an Ellie defender that this could’ve been handled a lot better. Now Gabby doesn’t trust her as much and she put a target on her back but I respect that Ellie has taken matters into her own hands and is thinking out of the box. I hope people don’t hate on her, this was such a fun and unexpected move, and kicked out a relatively boring character early which is nice

Could you blame him? He knew the votes were going to be between Ellie or Lake. Between the two, voting off Lake was the smarter option.
If Ellie was voted off, there's no guarantee Tom would be safe if their team ever found themselves in another elimination ceremony. Tess, Lake, and Aiden are all good friends. Gabby's outgoing and friendly personality might dissuade Lake and Tess from voting her out and Lake has shown that she was willing to vote him off that round so who's to say she wouldn't try again.
In that event, it could be 3 people against him.
If Lake was voted off, he could try persuading Tess to vote with him and Aiden now that Ellie had shown her more cold and ruthless side. Not the best situation but a lot better than the former.
