Delighted that you are applying your skills to a 1/700 ship as they are my current passion! I’ve always admired your high class detailed work and attention to detail and have no doubt that this current project will be no different. I’m really looking forward to following along and hope to learn a lot.
Hi, its now a week after the 85th aniversary of the battle of the River Plate. The German Graf Spee blew not far from Montevideo port, city where I live. Glad you returned to it in such a date!!
Looks like a lovely kit, Steve, I'm looking forward to following this build, particularly 1/700 photo etch work. My eyeballs are twitching already! May need an Optivisor and a magnifying glass.
Yes, friday night and Steve is building a ship! What more could we want? I remember when I first discovered this channel, it was HMS Hood every friday night! Btw this looks promising with the wooden decks and PE 😄
For 1/700 builds, you really need to be a 1/200 scale modeler........ the parts are so small..... need miniature model builders to work on them. I've opened quite a few models and looked at the parts, and thought.... oh boy, this is fiddley, I can't do it justice... bravo for leading the way Sir!
Hi Steve, love your ship builds! My dad was on the Ajax just after the war before transferring to the HMS Dido. One question, I've noticed you use the glue on the outside even when you could glue from inside to hide any marks, any reason for that, or is yhat just how you apply?

Nice and clean building as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Looking great Steve , you have inspired me to start my Flyhawk Iron duke.
Bonjour Steve, j’attendais ce montage avec impatience, bon courage et merci pour le partage
Looks like a nice kit Steve. Hope you remembered to get your sea boots on before getting back on the waves. 8^) Cheers from Canada!

Is there going to be another 1/200 ship series Steve?
You will need a microscope. Currently battling a 1/350 dreadnought with photo etch , small enough for me.
Love your builds but 1 700 too small
