Thanks for showing us some of your beautiful country. I think I have only seen Hoffmans on Supercubs registered in Switzerland. I suspect it’s a really good idea for reducing vibration not just noise. I was treasurer of my club in Washington State for many years. For a time we had 2 180 Supercubs with O-360 and 82” McCauley props. Come time for recovering, from what I heard, much time was spent fixing vibration damage. The horizontal stabiliser vibrates quite noticeably when power is applied for takeoff. We replaced one Supercub with a Pawnee. Everything is as designed on the Pawnee, stronger than the Cub, but they have only one seat. It looks like clubs world wide will be going to Rotax towplanes to reduce cost. Perhaps we’ll figure a way to go electric soon. This would be good, but I hope gasoline powered vehicles won’t be outlawed completely.
If by Hoffman you mean the propeller: This supercub is used for glacier landings, and the 4 blades give it more pull at low speeds - less ideal for towing a glider, though. Thanks!

For a beginner like me it’s interesting to see how different the climb rates can be in the same thermal!
Thanks for talking us along, Ronald 😊
Thanks! This is _one_ of the reasons I post these videos...
Happy towing and happy landings!
we are doing our best!
What a beautiful spot to go soaring. Maybe better than the Rockies.
Never been above the Rockies....
@@ronaldglider I've flown the wave at Pikes Peak. You should come over some time and maybe I should try Europe.
@@KlingbergWingMkII would be great!
Nice video. Miss the main instruments info taken along during the filming...
what exactly do you mean?
Beautiful panorama and i could feel how stressful the landing was from the video
@@ghostdogfpv excellent 👌
Can US pilot rent a glider there? Obviously with insurance...
You need an easa license - take a look at their website on how to do this

Also: if you have never flown in Alpine regions, you will need an endorsement (a few flights/hours with CFI)

You have no idea what we all see on the runway!
