In my opinion, my friend, you really should get this on the top shelf. Both Godzilla and Kong are absolutely gorgeous pieces, and they really decline in any kind of exciting value by being on the ground. As far as Kong eyes, I can see your issue, but if it’s on the top shelf, all you need is a little pin spotlight from below that will be directed at his eyes. It will give the eyes highlight. It doesn’t have to be a bright light just something that focuses on the eyes. Fantastic piece.
The eye lashes, mouth and "fur to face" transition look terrible imo. Especially for the price tag. The promos made this piece look a lot better and more movie accurate...in reality I actually think it looks pretty weak tbh. Definitely wouldn't pay over £1300 for it.
I was shocked when you showed those eyelashes. Man did they drop the ball there. You should put them on the top shelf and put pedestals under them to bring them up to eye level.
First of all like to start by acknowledging this is proof that PO - ing a piece that won’t be out for a year plus is absolutely unnecessary. I ordered this 4/28/21 and had it paid off in 6 months. You were able to order it a few weeks ago and have it in house now. Resin GK offered to get me Kong when I got the Mecha (thanks to you Sean 👍), but prime 1 had all my money and didn’t seem to want to budge. That being said, once all my PO’s are in, I will only order pieces that are ready to ship or in stock. I actually love this piece, thanks to your review even more now. Fortunately, I’ll be able to display this 54 inches high along with the Godzilla bust, Mechagodzilla., and the final battle diorama. I also think it’s overpriced, but what statue isnt nowadays? Hopefully one day you’ll be able to display these much higher so you can appreciate it more. Looks so good all together though. I still haven’t a I still haven’t ordered the battle axe, I’ll wait until it’s on sale. Thanks man.

You don't have to limit yourself to the height of your shelves, it's very easy to prop up a bust, plus in some cases it allows you to have less tall pieces in front and can look really cool while allowing to gain space. You can use a square block of wood for example that you would cover in the same fabric you use for the shelves

I’m a huge Kong fan and love this piece, but do agree on the price, eyelash issue as well as the teeth. I need to go back and find your Godzilla one, sounds cool.
I have Godzilla on a turn table and I bought one for Kong which should be arriving end of January. I think a turn table is a must to see all sides of an amazing bust.
Awesome bust mate. I agree... gloss up those teeth & gums and he will look just about perfect. You could even use clear gorilla glue to do this. Is his chest area silicone too or just his face?

No way is Prime 1's T-800 paring in scale with their Jungle Hunter Predator. Have you seen the size of the Jungle Hunter?

It's a nice bust but man 3500??? That is a lot. But collectibles have definitely gone up in price for sure. 3500 though MAN!
It's a really nice bust and a some gloss varnish will fix the mouth though, at that price, it's borderline unacceptable. For me the worst problem are the eyelashes. They are terrible and I would ask an artist to change them. It looks great overall and the base is good too with a mirror on the back to see more details.
Kong is cool as a movie character and all but as a statue or bust I just don’t see the appeal, it’s basically just a gorilla lol

Damn, looks awesome, they did a really nice job, for the average collector I think its a good buy. If your an avid bust collector, like yourself, I can see the shortcomings of the piece.

Seems grossly overpriced for the quality.
Transition from fur to skin is seems too severe but maybe just on camera.
Wonder if you would have been able to pick this up from another collector at below retail down the line.
For the teeth, get yourself some Citadel or Vallejo gloss varnish and a high quality model brush, would probably take 5 minutes to add some gloss to them
Vallejo gloss varnish is what i use as well.
Don't see the value at all. Gonna tank in the aftermarket. Looks good in your display though. You could try to underlight him to see his eyes better.

Overall this thing looks great. Like others said gloss up those gums and teeth. Overpriced for sure but this was necessary in your monsterverse display. Still hope you get Gypsy Danger statue.

these busts look really great, but godzilla is on another level
I'd say the Gypsy Danger is Prime 1s best bust to date. That's a grail piece. I remember you talked yourself out of buying this so many times. Very expensive indeed those eyelashes are not good.

I was already probably not getting it even having the dio and zilla bust like your setup, but your review cinched it for me. Definite pass unless I can get much cheaper. This should have been around 2.5K not 3.5K.

Holy crap this thing is a hot mess. The eylashes, the fur transition, the lip. Wow this should not be more than 1k woth how mediocre the work is.
I know lighting and camera lens etc…. But…. It does not look as dark/black as the proto, and the hair of course needs work.. it looks matted. And yes, like you said the eyes are hard to see , just like your Cyclops…. Still cool though 👍🏻. You need Gypsy
My Kong is in shipment preparation from Prime 1. I should have it 3rd or 4th week of January. Economy shipping was $403. It was set to standard shipping but luckily I caught it before the payment finalized because it was $767!
I’m going to be displaying mine up top on a lazy Susan. I also have Godzilla on a turn table. It’s definitely overpriced but I have Godzilla so I wanted Kong. I’m excited to finally get this!
Yeah I have no regrets. Still a great bust. Shame p1 raped us on price. Knowing collectors need both. Reel us in with Godzilla decently priced. Then rape us on Kong.
