- In today's mario evolution of the enemy/character series we are going to look at the origin, secrets, timeline, story, lore, mysteries and history of ludwig von koopa, one of the koopalings that follows bowser and bowser jr. when they want to kidnap peach and take over the mushroom kingdom. This little helper has been seen in games like Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Paper Mario: Color Splash and many more. He has made many toads sad, caused mario and luigi harm and even worked together with kamek who gave him a power up. He is part of a group called the koopalings, the other members are, Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, and Lemmy. Now let's see how he changed over the years!

I would have to agree that Ludwig is the best Koopaling due to these reasons.
He is also known to be rather cruel, and his actual age is unknown, but he is in a adult-like stage. He is also the smartest out of all, perhaps with the exception of Iggy, and he is the most mature, and responsible out of all the others. Even if he isn't Bowser's son, I'd still agree that the throne rightfully belongs to Ludwig. Just until Jr learns how to... I don't know, be a king properly..?

oldest is roy. he is going through aucward years and being one of only koopalings to go through puberty, he has more developed mucsels. being a koopa tho people either give him respect or he charges at them full force. he would be the average bully of the school plus bully is literaly his name. he also takes rage out on siblings bc of the years of knowing the things going on with marios. plus back sasses siblings, smart enof to literaly have them under his control, tough enof to be a football player, and has balls to fight back with sister in certant episodes and with the most deepest voice as well the re is no deniying it. overall age... 14.5.

Ever since I became a Mario fan at age 7, Ludwig has always been my favorite koopaling, even to this day.

I think a brand-new Mario cartoon would be cool since they upgrade the koopalings a lot and Ludwig could defeat the Mario bros in the cartoon since he is wittier with his magic.
Ludwig is the BEST koopaling. I also have a Mario encyclopedia, and it says he’s intelligent and likes to stand out in the crowd. I think I also saw somewhere that he’s the oldest of the koopalings.
you can see Ludwigs the leader in Mario and Luigi paper Jam. The bossbattles are not hard but he can choice a card and use it like Mario and Luigi did

On the Wii version they should have made it even more difficult by making the platform fall after Ludwig lands on it. And he gets to shoot while below the screen where you can not hit him, but he then shows back up after shooting 3 times.

I know you chose not talk about the spin off series but I think a mention of their additions to the character could do alot for these character since most of the koopalings appear together in their appearances. The paper jam does a great addition on the dialog between the koopalings and colour splash adds more character to them as they aproach mario outside of battles.
One recurring trait is that Ludwig thinks highly of himself as the koopaling leader even though the others think otherwise. He acts big, talks big, and falls big. The battle in colour splash has him use war ships and submarines. Giving out orders like a commander of the koopaling army.
They also appear in the comics as well as the tv series.

In Super Mario World he became similar to Bowser. He was next in command, probably that made him stronger in some way, allowed him to breathe fire and jump as high as Bowser.
But Mario came along, destroyed his castle and his work. Soon, Ludvig came back to fighting with his wand. He was just another Koopaling. And the spotlight belongs only to Bowser Jr. Now.
I see Ludwig as the Koopa version of Alexander from "A Clockwork Orange" (without the molesting while singing a Gene Kelly song).
