प्रियंका टिबरेवाल ने बताया कि वो संदेशखाली गईं और उन्हें धमकियों और यातनाओं के बारे में बताया गया, तो उस महिला को चुप कराने की कोशिश भी की गई। टिबरेवाल के मुताबिक TMC के ग़ुंडे लोगों को डरा धमका रहे हैं कि वे शेख शाहजहाँ को निर्दोष साबित करें। एक महिला ने उन्हें टीएमसी नेता दिलीप मलिक के अत्याचारों के बारे में बताया, जिन्होंने कुछ दिन पहले एक महिला का अपहरण कर लिया था। बीजेपी नेता रेखा पात्रा ने भी घटना के विरोध में धरना दिया तो वहीं, पीड़ित के पति के मुताबिक इस मामले में शिकायत दर्ज करवाई गई है।
