    Very helpful! I'm making paracord bracelets for deployed service member care packages and these videos are great! Personally I hate the fluff in a lot of other videos, so these are perfect.

      @ Allie Firebaugh. Did you use the shackles as well on your bracelets? How did they turn out? Was trying to figure out how to use the buckles that have the flint and compass on them. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

    it also works great using a carabeaner as a belt buckle. Fast deploy rocks, thanks for sharing the millipede knotting.

    this makes a really nice key chain
    i followed the instructions but, instead of using the shackle, i used a key ring. also i didn't snip the ends cus i only had like 3 inches left on each side.
    thanks a lot, makes me feel better when on trips

    I had to touch base. I watched this about two years ago and used this to make a shoulder pad on a rifle sling. Looks great and if needed I've got about 50' or so of paracord ready to use. Also would still have the sling to use or I could dismantle that too if I needed more. A while back I was snowshoeing in the back country with a pair of old school snowshoes. Weather got warm and the "rawhide" webbing was missing it's varnish. My rawhide turned into wet noodles. I happened to have some paracord in my possibles bag. It wasn't pretty but it got me home.

    this is my favorite design because it can carry over 16ft of chord and its quick deploy so that makes it even better :D

  • @redacted351
    @redacted351 6 років тому +2

    Little Tip: I made a this quick release but my mistake was making it too tight. Make sure you don't tighten it too much or the quick release feature is useless. If you are worried about it unraveling, don't worry the slip knots at the end will keep the bracelet together. If you want to have the quick release ready make sure your bracelet isn't to stiff. Let it have wiggle room

    I used a 5/8 whistle buckle and I did the cows hitch thing on one half of buckle and then on the other end where u have just loops I put each strand (2) through the buckle and just took them back up to the top and continued the same way u did. It worked great.

      How did you incorporate a buckle?

    • @marlettohemmingsen2828
      @marlettohemmingsen2828 8 років тому +1

      +BoredParacord you fold the cord in half and put a hitch on the buckle like you normally do, then thread your cord through the other end of the buckle. Basically you wrap the loose loops through the hole in the other end of the buckle. I could send a photo of it to your site or something.
      Ps. This 'modded' design would also preserve the 'quick deploy' function.

    A) I think the Blaze Bar looks WAY better.
    B) You can modify your jig with a couple eye screws and a dowel to keep things tidy.
    Just a thought, you judge if it’s a good one. 😊

    An easy way I use to turn this into a lanyard is to tie a loop knot where the shackle is attached at first instead, then only attach the shackle to the pull through loops at the other end.

  • @KosukiFire
    @KosukiFire 8 років тому +3

    I used a modified version of this for a survival fixed blade lanyard. The 6" tail of the lanyard that is a doubled over cobra with a 6" tale, has a 6" tail that holds 6ft of quick deploy paracord as this. So it can be deployed with out risking the rest ofnthe kmfes labyard/handle strap. I have pictutes if you want to see.

    Great video/videos instruction course i was looking for a basic wrap for my ax handle 4 or 5 days ago,i now have 200 ft of black 550 and multi color bracelet kit. i choose the quick deploy millipede as my first piece it took me 3 hours LOL i have no idea how long it should have taken but it works and looks perfect.I just finished my second piece the double Solomon I finished it total time 4 hours for the new year i am choosing the double cobra after i visit your web site for some insight i choose not to buy or build a jig because i felt i would rather learn and i would understand the knots wraps and ties easier .now that i have put the work in i buying jig in south Louisiana para cord bracelets would sell for mardi gras and festival season all of that i have yet to wrap my ax
    Thanks for the videos

    I have a question. I'm getting ready to order some paracord from your Amazon and ebay to make our own bracelets.
    My questions are for these quick deploy ones do for length just add 2x the amount for the center only?
    Sorry guess I have 2 questions.
    The other is can I do any stiitch for for a quick deploy or only a few specific ones?
    Thank you.

      You are going to have to go more than that for sure. I used about 14 feet in mine and it barely fit my wrist. I have average sized wrists. I would say around 2ft per 1inch. Let me know how it turns out.

    For the cows hitch, you could just pull the loop through and then just loop it back over the shackle, end up with the exact same hitch, but don't need to pull all the cord through, especially when the cord is really long.
