Very helpful! I'm making paracord bracelets for deployed service member care packages and these videos are great! Personally I hate the fluff in a lot of other videos, so these are perfect.
@ Allie Firebaugh. Did you use the shackles as well on your bracelets? How did they turn out? Was trying to figure out how to use the buckles that have the flint and compass on them. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
it also works great using a carabeaner as a belt buckle. Fast deploy rocks, thanks for sharing the millipede knotting.
this makes a really nice key chain
i followed the instructions but, instead of using the shackle, i used a key ring. also i didn't snip the ends cus i only had like 3 inches left on each side.
thanks a lot, makes me feel better when on trips
Dude! You put an end to my suffering! This is quite easy to make, thank you.
I think you should make a belt out of one so that you have heaps of paracord :)
I had to touch base. I watched this about two years ago and used this to make a shoulder pad on a rifle sling. Looks great and if needed I've got about 50' or so of paracord ready to use. Also would still have the sling to use or I could dismantle that too if I needed more. A while back I was snowshoeing in the back country with a pair of old school snowshoes. Weather got warm and the "rawhide" webbing was missing it's varnish. My rawhide turned into wet noodles. I happened to have some paracord in my possibles bag. It wasn't pretty but it got me home.
This is cool. I've made several double cobra key chains. This will be my next project.
Chris, yes, this is a great alternative and a true survival bracelet.
WOW! I had no idea they were that easy to make. My husband bought our girls and I one each (mine's pink). I wondered how in the world it was made. THANKS FOR SHARING!
They are super easy. Great for when you are bored. I will post some of the ones that I have made later.
Chris, if you would like, I can post a couple of your pictures on the Fan Projects section on the site. Just send them to BoredParacord@gmail.com
BoredParacord I posted some of my previous projects
Thanks a lot. I didn't make a bracelet but tied the millipede to my knife, which has a shackle of sorts at the end. Very useful info
this is my favorite design because it can carry over 16ft of chord and its quick deploy so that makes it even better :D
Little Tip: I made a this quick release but my mistake was making it too tight. Make sure you don't tighten it too much or the quick release feature is useless. If you are worried about it unraveling, don't worry the slip knots at the end will keep the bracelet together. If you want to have the quick release ready make sure your bracelet isn't to stiff. Let it have wiggle room
Please make one with a quick release buckle cause there's a lot useful buckles like those with whistle and firesteel
Great video. I managed to make one that looks exactly like yours on my first try in under 20 minutes. I subscribed.
Best quick deploy I’ve seen in a while.
I used a 5/8 whistle buckle and I did the cows hitch thing on one half of buckle and then on the other end where u have just loops I put each strand (2) through the buckle and just took them back up to the top and continued the same way u did. It worked great.
Oh ok, sounds good and makes sense. You should send me a picture of it and I will post it to the site and send you a promo code. Boredparacord@gmail.com
So much for giving your buddy credit. No link to his original. I would have loved to see one without that ugly and uncomfortable shackle.
I used same technique but used buckles instead and it worked great. Thanks man me likey
How did you incorporate a buckle?
+BoredParacord you fold the cord in half and put a hitch on the buckle like you normally do, then thread your cord through the other end of the buckle. Basically you wrap the loose loops through the hole in the other end of the buckle. I could send a photo of it to your site or something.
Ps. This 'modded' design would also preserve the 'quick deploy' function.
A) I think the Blaze Bar looks WAY better.
B) You can modify your jig with a couple eye screws and a dowel to keep things tidy.
Just a thought, you judge if it’s a good one. 😊
Cows hitch is also called a larks head knot.
Pretty slick and easy to learn. A new favorite.
Luving this Milliipede Bracelet braid....thank you for sharing it. Cheers ;-)
the Kids are gonna love making these.
Thanks for the tutorial ! I've been looking for a tutorial on a milipede bracelet using a shackle .
As far as I know, this is the only one. Not sure.
Yes I know . Yours is the only video I found that makes the milipede style using a shackle . Thanks a bunch !
Thank you so much
An easy way I use to turn this into a lanyard is to tie a loop knot where the shackle is attached at first instead, then only attach the shackle to the pull through loops at the other end.
I used a modified version of this for a survival fixed blade lanyard. The 6" tail of the lanyard that is a doubled over cobra with a 6" tale, has a 6" tail that holds 6ft of quick deploy paracord as this. So it can be deployed with out risking the rest ofnthe kmfes labyard/handle strap. I have pictutes if you want to see.
KosukiFire I
Excelent way to have quick paracord deploy. Thanks
Great design!! One of my new favorites.
+BoredParacord i saw that you made two videos on quick deploy bracelet. Which one would use more paracord?
was exactly what I'm looking for, function not as much fashion!! thanks again😎
1:43 you could've just put the shackle through the loop XD
thats very cool.I wonder if you can do this without clasps or buckles. with a lanyard knot maybe?
I used this to make my own watch band and it is perfect for it.
Great video/videos instruction course i was looking for a basic wrap for my ax handle 4 or 5 days ago,i now have 200 ft of black 550 and multi color bracelet kit. i choose the quick deploy millipede as my first piece it took me 3 hours LOL i have no idea how long it should have taken but it works and looks perfect.I just finished my second piece the double Solomon I finished it total time 4 hours for the new year i am choosing the double cobra after i visit your web site for some insight i choose not to buy or build a jig because i felt i would rather learn and i would understand the knots wraps and ties easier .now that i have put the work in i buying jig in south Louisiana para cord bracelets would sell for mardi gras and festival season all of that i have yet to wrap my ax
Thanks for the videos
Did my first bracelet from this tutorial. Re-did it since I made some mistakes. Second time I packed it harder so the excess cord from the first time around is now gone.
u make the best paracord tutorials out there :)
Is this really "quick deploy", or will you get all those little knots like a classic cobra will?
This one is just a modified cobra (over and under instead of all over), as far as I can tell!?
how many metres of paracord did you use? Thanks, Simone (I love your videos)
PaintballHead03 did not invent that stitch!! I watched a video on it in January of 2011 and it's called a lightening bolt stitch or something like that!
I have a question. I'm getting ready to order some paracord from your Amazon and ebay to make our own bracelets.
My questions are for these quick deploy ones do for length just add 2x the amount for the center only?
Sorry guess I have 2 questions.
The other is can I do any stiitch for for a quick deploy or only a few specific ones?
Thank you.
Nice video! I like the design..
Great job on the video and it’s a very easy to make due to this video..😃😃😃
I don't like those long ends, so can I just cut them off or hide somehow? Like leaving a bit and make knots on them
I saw there are sharp twist or kink on it .And i really worry would it damage the cord. because i am a outdoor lover. finding some kind of way to store the rope for emergency.
Can I put a watch on this bracelet? I mean to use this like a watch strap? Is there a problem if it's quick deploy?? Sorry for my English
For those asking about using knots, shackles or buckles check out paintballhead03 's channel, he created this design and has videos on how to make the millipede bracelet with all these fastening methods
Pretty new to paracord. Would it work to use the buckle type that has the flint and compass on it? Thank for any advice!
Thanks Shawn. Another great video. James S Dorsey
This is good, but when I deploy it, I end up with a single overhand knot in the starting length.
Can you use a normal buckle because the only place i can find shackles is a home improvement store and they cost around $1.00 each sooo i was wondering if it would still be able to quick deploy, even if it isn't I will still make the bracelet anyway.
The blaze bar is also quick deploy
whats the size of that shackle? i ordered 4 and they are hugeeeee! they were 8mm
if you double or triple the cord it would hold loads more.. 😀it would get kinda fat though i suppose.. i want a lot of cord on my wrist..
make a belt then
I also meant to ask, Do you use the same amount of cord for this design as you would for a standard cobra bracelet (1ft per 1in needed)?
You are going to have to go more than that for sure. I used about 14 feet in mine and it barely fit my wrist. I have average sized wrists. I would say around 2ft per 1inch. Let me know how it turns out.
I made the mistake of not remeasuring my wrist and making the adjustment for the use of the clasp. Oh well, the wife will wear it and it gives me a reason to get more clasps!
Larry Noe Whoops!
Thank you
How could you make a tourniquet with that?
i managed to use the same technique but a knot and loop and i managed to tie one loop around the other at the end
Did paintballhead delete his channel ? I cant find the original
I made this one and it is good
Need to make a 5ft long how much rope should i use?
Never seen this bud, sweet 👍
I bought a shackle and now I know which bracelet I want to tie on it.
the shackle is called a clevis if memory serves
Bow shackle
Steve is right, it's a bow shackle, but the pin is called a clevis pin.
Can you use a regular 1" buckle
would this work for a key chain if i used a key ring
For the cows hitch, you could just pull the loop through and then just loop it back over the shackle, end up with the exact same hitch, but don't need to pull all the cord through, especially when the cord is really long.
how much paracord did you use
I have a spool of 400# test Nylon Utility Cord...can I use this to make the Quick Deploy Paracord Bracelet?
yes you can substitute para-cord for nylon or any outher cord, rope and string for that matter. for any para-cord bracelet or weave.
I want to make one of these that isn't a bracelet. how many feet of paracord per inch. As close as I can figure its 2 feet per inch?
Ken Hupp I believe it's closer to one foot per inch
Can I use buckles instead
blaze bar is longer and easier to make
My millipede is doing a cobra stitch over cobra stitch
And you can still "quick deploy" the cord?
why didn't you demonstrate how you comes apart? lol
super
That shackle doesn't seem easy to release with one hand
can u make it quick deploy like a grenade
Yes, It’s called a shackle.
how much cord will i need??
what is the cord/inch ratio??
14 feet
+dimitrisniper ratio is about 2ft1in
It is a D ring
Nice...
I knew you would like this one
+BoredParacord Sorry, can you tell me how many metres of paracord did you use? (I' m italian so I didn't understand if you say it in the video... sorry for my bad english!!)
+Simone Massini 'about 14 feet' - about 4.2672 meters of paracord.
+Marletto Hemmingsen 4 meters and 27 centimeters, basically.
Isn't this design stolen from the Paradudeaz channel? You even use similar wording and he does his 2 years before you with same shackle.
its called a D shackle
what the steal parts called
Pin&clevis
Thanks@@wmlother113
ขอบคุณครับผม
Or (hear me out)... crochet. Crochet always quick-deploys.
Should have named this video "Macrame: For Dummies"
Those are called D-rings.
The hardest part is trying to focus watching this with draggy commentary
Can you use a regular 1" buckle
