Engineer here. The remote uses "23A" cells. These are common on eBay and Amazon. The LED limit setting is described in the paper manual, be it in Chinglish. The HC008 controller needs a clean power up switch. If you turn on your PSU with the LEDs and controller already connected, the controller may not "power on reset" properly and will do nothing no matter what buttons are pressed. Instead, turn on the PSU, then connect both the controller and LEDs to the PSU. Note: connecting the LED control signal to a powered controller before power is applied to the LED strip might damage the setup. Longer LED strips suffer from excessive voltage drops, to the point where the many of the blue LEDs will not even illuminate. You may need to inject power from both ends of the LED strip, and even at some points within the strip, to get correct colour and proper intensity. Each LED package can take 60mA at 5V (R and G and B LEDs fully on). Ensure your PSU and wiring can support the current needed for all of your LEDs. A 720 LED strip ideally needs about 40 Amps when driven correctly.
Thank you sooooo much I was pulling my hair out and pissed I couldn't for shit on the controller" but I am using 2m WS2812B 5050 RGB LED Strip 288 LEDs and the wires are getting hot, too hot to hold!!! tried to power it from both ends got even hotter!!!
The WS2811 on your strip looks like it has 1 chip per 3 led's. Just set the controller to 100 not 300. Try setting the speed to HI this will probably give you a better control range. It's easy to check just look and see if the led's light up in blocks of 3 per 1 step on the controller.
It seems that the sequences for the led pixels work in blocks of 7. Is there any way to change this ? I don't mean change the number of pixels being used. Hope you understand what I mean
I have the 12v Ws2811 Led strip but they sent me a 5v controller. I was wondering if I put 5v to the controller and only use the Date output from the controller to the Led strip and put a separate 12v power supply to the Led strip if this will make the led strip work? Thanks
The red and white wire are 12v power wires in case you connect more than 10 or 20meters of led in a row. You add a power supply every 10 or 20 meters to keep the power constant so the led stay bright
Does anyone know how to use the T8000 controller and the software setup on led edit 2014. i use a T1000 that is easily programmed by led edit. but if i try to program the leds with a T8000 i get random output not like the pattern i selected ( passage) .. Thanks

There are 100 pixels in this strip, not 300. One WS2811 chip controls 3 LEDs (one pixel). So 20 pixels per meter, but 60 LEDs per meter.

I have the same led strip lights but what are the extra red and white wires for do I need to connect them?
The controller I have came pre wired at the out out end. White power+ Blue power- and Red DA.? Is this correct?
What if I want to make the LEDS portable ? How many volts does the battery pack has to be ? To power up the LED controller ??
