GUILEM'S JOURNEY : 08 - CLOISTER

In this abbey where I live, we are an entire community of monks under the direction of an Abbot.
The centre of our monastery is the cloister. It's a closed- in courtyard bordered by covered galleries. The monks pray or read the Holy Scriptures there, sometimes for hours on end.
Even if the Abbey has gone through many catastrophes over the centuries, the buildings have always been rebuilt and kept in good repair.
