Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (1890 - 20 January 1988) (Pashto : خاں عبدالغفار خاں, Hindi: ख़ान अब्दुल ग़फ़्फ़ार ख़ान) was a Pashtun/Afghan political and spiritual leader known for his non-violent opposition to British Rule in India. A lifelong pacifist, a devout Muslim, [1] and a close friend of Mahatma Gandhi, he was also known as Badshah Khan (also Bacha Khan, Pashto: lit., "King Khan"),Fakhr-e-Afghan(pride of Afghans) and Sarhaddi Gandhi (Urdu, Hindi lit., "Frontier Gandhi").
He was initially encouraged by his family to join the British Indian Army; however the treatment of a British Raj officer towards a native offended him, and a family decision for him to study in England was put off after his mother's intervention.
Having witnessed the repeated failure of revolts against the British Raj, he decided social activism and reform would be more beneficial for Pashtuns. This ultimately led to the formation of the Khudai Khidmatgar movement (Servants of God). The movement's success triggered a harsh crackdown against him and his supporters and he was sent into exile. It was at this stage in the late 1920s that he formed an alliance with Gandhi and the Indian National Congress. This alliance was to last till the 1947 partition of India.
Ghaffar Khan strongly opposed the Muslim League's demand for the partition of India. When the Congress party accepted the partition plan, he told them "You have thrown us to the wolves."
After partition, Ghaffar Khan was frequently arrested by the Pakistani government in part because of his association with India and his opposition to authoritarian moves by the government. He spent much of the 1960s and 1970s either in jail or in exile.
In 1985 he was nominated for the Nobel peace prize. In 1987 he became the first person not holding the citizenship of India to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. Upon his death in 1988, he was buried in Jalalabad, despite the heavy fighting at the time, both sides in the Afghan war declared a ceasefire to allow his burial

If U admired Gaffar Khan and his principles U would not say tht, Badshah Khan treated every1 with respect. Frontier Gandhi title was given 2 him bcz of his values n principles. Even Non-Pashtuns deserve respect my friend. Masood was d only leader whom Taliban could not defeat or bribe and who protected civilians from evil of Taliban. Gaffar Khan would have been proud of Masood.

Oh yeah he is a true hero who after getting stabbed by Congress came begging to Pakistan for forgiveness. His name was Khan Abdul Ghaddar Khan, AKA Baygharat Khan.

Good documentairy, but I belief it misuse The Proud historical figure of Fakhr-e-Afghan, in terms of comparing Bacha Khan with the Taliban and try to set Bacha Khan's supports against the Taliban, which is a political aim!
Allah (J) mo rokh khoshala kah Khan Baba!

History is keep repeating itself about Durand line!
Durand contract signed by Abdur-Rahman-Khan between Afghanistan and the British imperialist in 1893 to lease Durand line for 100years in order to protect Afghanistan from the Russian imperialist!
Amanullah Khan abolished the Durand contract after a 3rd British invasion and betrayal on 8-aug-1919 declared the independence on 19aug 1919!
In 1921 after the Bolshevik revolution Afghanistan and USSR signed a non-aggression-pact with each other, by signing the pact with USSR the Durand line had no function anymore and thus it was abolished, the british had to retreat!
1929 Durand line was stolen again by removing Amanullah-Khan with an uprise of bache-saqow because, he was kufar according to the British propaganda! Within that same year the British installed Nadir who kept Afghanistan in the Dark ages including his son Zahir!
The British puppets made sure that no progression would exist in Afghanistan to create a 2nd bache saqow! 43 years of oppression and racism was promoted! (Masir-e-Tareekh Ghuubar 1929) The puppets gave the British the Durand line and they created Pakistan in 1947!
Since Durand line was signed in 1893 for 100years, Afghanistan was destined to be destroyed in 1993!
With or without PDPA members! Because it was the cousin of Zahir who changed the neutral position towards USSR! And thus a jihad was already started in 1973 because the British puppet (Shah Shuja 3rd) was removed!
Currently USA is in Afghanistan because Taliban re-united Durand line during their period in Afghanistan!
Imperialism 2.0! This wars were since 1800 always about preventing Afghanistan to have 9a good relationship with Russia! GEO POLICTICS! And until Afghans don’t realize this we never will have peace!

To hell with all warlords and traitors who worked against Afghanistan. Every Afghan who fired a gun against the government workers is a traitor pure and simple. There is other ways to get change in your country, if you were not happy. Educate your self, write good things so people can hear you. Look Soviet it collapse but countries with in it didn't got it self destroyed by war. So I hope all these traitors suffer in hell for eternity and not even judgement day will they get a chance.

my friend both r tall leaders. Badshah Khan & his son were beaten up by british mercilessly. Jinnah was a British agent not him. Also British controlled KPK b4 he became leader. Afghans must unite or else Pakistan will use Pashtuns and non-Pashtuns against each other to control Afghanistan. I m sure U dont want tht
