They should have had a Daniel Jackson cameo in this episode and his first scene in meeting her, he be like,.....
"Linaea?!?!?!?!?"
Loved the part when Woolsey stops Jack and Jack gives him a look like take your hand off me and Woolsey gives him a look like sorry, but also bring it back. Then they both gave that look like saying sorry and thanks at the same time. That made me laugh.
It was such a display of rapid nonverbal communication. The quick shifts of their expressions communicating with each other was so well done.
The scene between Jack and Elizabeth was a definitely better way of writing her character off than the one we actually ended up with
Real world complications (if you don’t know look it up) meant that’s what we ended up with.
It does leave this moment being more poignant considering how she ends up. And, he ending does have add a kind of brutal reality to the series which made me enjoy it all the more.
Yet once again they didn't ask the Ancients how to recharge or make a ZPM. What were they not thinking?
Yeah sure, the Ancients just kicked them out of Atlantis because they didn't need the help of what they considered Cavemen. But they would totally hand out blueprints for ZPM's when asked.
🤣
I've always been curious but wouldn't the ancients have had some type of manufacturing plant in Atlantis to make ZPM's I don't believe that the ancients would have a off-site production plant for ZPM's
@@rogelioregalado2032 According to the writers of SGA if we ever got future seasons they were going to introduce a lab that makes it. The lab could be accessed from Atlantis via a portal. The reason for not being built directly in the city is because the process to make it would be high risk. The lab would be destroyed but not before the team could make one new zpm. This lets them keep the Atlantis team as the underdog
What the ancients needed was our help but as usual the only thing they exuded was arrogance and a complete denial of their situation, that's what got them destroyed in the first place.
It has been stated that the Ancient technology, can be particularly volatile, if you don't know what your doing.

So they are saying 100 ancients 10k years out of whack can handle the re-emergence of the wraith, when they entire civilisation failed because of they overconfidence. Its kinda hilarious they die for that. Even the asgard acknowledge that humans can think outside their limitations.
The ancients were plagued by overconfidence, they always thought their superior technology would win because they were so much more advanced than everyone else. And to be fair most of the time they did but they just didn’t have the numbers to defeat the wraith after the ORI virus that drove them from the Milky Way in the first place
Ancients kept winning the engagements the tiny bit we seen of Wraith would been no issue for current 100 ancients, but my guess would be entire wraith civilization would probably wake up and overwhelm them like they did before. @Stranglars1 true, but they didn't exactly have many other options. Atlantis is surviving on deception. The Galaxy is full of wraith and the others of the four great races are dead or pacifists. You're forgetting that we know the Ancients left on Atlantis to Pegasus following the plague in the Milky way. The Ancients' alliance with the Asgard predates the plague, and thus all ancients who were in Pegasus were those that had come from the milky way.
This feels like O'Neill and Woolsey make a pretty compelling argument about their need for manpower and support. Only 100 Ancients, they'd have to set aside their pride, but there's no question that they really need help and that they have no clue what the current status of the Pegasus galaxy is. This was a massive miscalculation on the part of the Ancients.
I wish the ancients fired up that hidden ZPM factory and replenished Atlantis with a big stockpile before being knocked off. And maybe left the door open to the ZPM lab 😛
The zpm room was basically a newer version of solar scoops. Nuclear class if not properly installed or even built. Take 12 volt vs 60 volt what’s the difference for both have 100 amp hour.
Well at least the Replicators were nice enough to leave three full ones behind.
Never liked the whole idea of this episode. Ancients were leaving antlantis 10000 years ago because they were outnumbered in the war. The humans save them and offer them the numbers they need to have a fighting chance in the war and they just turn it down to continue in the city they were abandoning in an even worse state than when they were leaving? Then they all die....
Because when the replicators arrive, they think: "Oh let's just chill, they cannot attack us, it's not like they have ever gotten out of control. And why would self-replicating nano-machines be able to change in any significant way when given 10.000 years of time?"

There are lots and lots and lots of repeat actors and actresses across the franchise.
To think, if the Ancients had even shown an interest in the progression of Earth since discovering the Stargate, they'd have found a human race allied with the Asgard and other races, and at war with not only the Wraith, but the Ori as well. And given what we knew of the Ori/Ancient split, that should have been enough cause for them to want to help, since for once there was a mess that was chasing them that they couldn't run from/leave unresolved.
they created the wraith, they cause the split between them and the ori, and they wanted no part of either. kinda sounds familiar in a current us president kinda way no?

Jack’s name tag is a half-inch too low and it bugs me.
When they changed the USAF service uniform post-‘91 the blue plastic name tags went away along with the breast pockets.

I hope the SGC recalled all of their power generators after they were kicked out.
Chances are, the Ancients have power-generation technology superior to that of a naquadah reactor.
If Jack was really willing to withdraw from the city and the Pegasus galaxy, he should have asked for a ZPM on the way out. Or five.
Shame that the ungrateful arrogant Ancients got their comeuppance in the end. I don't understand the Ancients' logic, how did they think 100 of them were going to be able to restore the city back to its full potential anyway ?
I still want to know what happened to their ship. Is it just sitting out there in the void waiting for Earth to salvage it?

You guys are all wrong. It should have been Rodney in the negotiations. The Ancients were extremely arrogant. And you cannot negotiate with an arrogant person unless you are one yourself. Guess who is the most arrogant person there? Yep, Rodney.
Yeah but even Rodney's arrogance pales in comparison to the sheer endless pit of Hubris that the Ancients have
...that's why we're the fifth race
Taking all into account, the Ancients are quiet a flawed species.
Already that they were responsible both for the existence of the Wraith and the Replicators. And they weren't willing to stop the Ori for the longest time.
as soon as she started acting all high and mighty i knew they were all screwed and definitely not recurring characters.
Woolsey should've explained the finer points of maritime law to the Ancients. Atlantis was an abandoned vessel in international waters when the expedition found it. According to international maritime law it is legitimate salvage and thus the property of the members of the expedition. The Ancients have no claim to it.
Yeah i don't think *international* maritime law flies in a *different Galaxy*
Under salvage law, a successful salvor is NOT entitled to just keep the salved vessel under any circumstances, but is entitled to a generous award.
this here is exactly why the ancients lost... arrogance and superiority. they never saw humans being worthy despite them being able save and support atlantis and rescuing the ancients. 100 ancients to run a facility without any support or replenishment, im sorry but these ancients were just too far gone... they no longer deserved to continue existing and they got exactly what they had coming to them.
The episode pilot of "The Teal'c Chronicles" is insane !!! 🔥😱
Wouldn't this fall under the category of salvage? The ancients abandoned the city after they tossed it into the ocean, so they clearly didn't want it anymore.
Different galaxy, for starters. Furthermore, they had to abandon the city because of war; THEY HAD NO CHOICE.
still can't get over how dumb they were to boot us out here
My mind may be too dark for this TV show, but considering the stakes involved (galaxy-conquering alien vampires), what was preventing the SGA crew from taking a hundred members of the most tactically inept human civilization to ever exist into custody at gunpoint for interrogation? They could be used as labor in hazardous activities, or bait when checking new areas. Goddamn I'd be facing trial for war crimes in no time if I were leading that expedition.
That is common thing for most "civilized people".
You need to look after your own.
And you can't be placing others above yours.
If we look religions, there is a country starting with "I", that is doing it right now. Their mindset is that no one else is worth of anything. And can be killed or used as pleased.
They happily do so, they use "lower races" and "non-believers" in such ways that you talk about.
When someone say "America First!" it is that attitude exactly.
Same way is when people are "oh the poor thing in that country, let's bring them here to home", that are placing value of someone else above others.

Just think. Had Rodney told them about changing the Replicators base code, those ancients would have still been about, and we would have had the best of both worlds, access to Atlantis and the ancients, and no cost😉
And I'm going to elaborate, because this detail seems to be missed. In progeny Niam gives Rodney access to their base code to remove the aggression programming. But Rodney also did something else. He froze all of the Replicators in place, and this time pause allowed the Replicators to alter their own code. This is why they attacked the humans again (after their aggression lines were changed back) and they removed the coding to not attack the ancients.
Yup, there's so many "what if" scenarios in the Stargate franchise that bugs the hell out of me.
