It's incredible how his death had so much impact that Rocket Jump Waltz became the anthem of Rick May. Even in 2021 people still miss him.
even today, just hearing this reminds me of how much he changed everyone's lives. back when he died I wasnt playing tf2, but I had played star fox. And knowing peppy died was sad, but finding out he was the v/a for one of the most famous meme sources, was even worse... after playing tf2 however, knowing that soldier was almost the single most integral part of the game... made me feel worse. REST IN PEACE YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD.
