That would make a beautiful home. Someone turned a old two story school into a very nice looking home in Mishawaka Indiana! There's a old middle school in South bend Indiana down town area made into apartments.
Maybe the local library might have more pictures of what it was before. Where I live there is a historical organization that preserves buildings and still uses them.
Shame it couldn't have been repurposed other than for corn storage. In the city where I attended school back in the 1950s and '60s (Baltimore) I went to both old (built 1914 to 1919) and brand new school buildings. I always liked the older buildings better. They seemed to have a much warmer atmosphere with all the hardwood used in their classrooms. I liked the old wood and iron desks/chairs, too! This building could still be saved if someone had the money to invest in it.
If you want to see a tower, may I recommend this video ua-cam.com/video/hLcgLyEcKjA/v-deo.htmlsi=1mtTrjPifD1XQ1eR I climbed up to the top of the bell tower in this abandoned church!
First time viewer and new subscriber. I like your style! Just wanted to say that one shot peeking through the hole in the corner and looking at the tower on the other side would make a GREAT still shot. Suitable for framing IMHO. Will check out some of your other offerings.
What is never told is.. the kids who went there could actually read, write and perform math, science skills far superior to kids the same age today.. the One Room school was actually the best way to educate kids because the older kids helped the younger ones with their homework and studying.. the younger kids were exposed to much higher levels of knowledge than their grade level at the same time as the older students… but in the 1930’s, the radical leftist movement started to take over education.. in the Ivy League Universities, the book, The Sexual Revolution was sweeping the universities.. google it
I liked it until I saw them snakes. That being said anything can be restored. Like that guy who bought a ghost town. He moved there and slowly started restoring it.
Me, I'd love to rebuild this into a home for myself. Locally a guy did that to a one-roomer that sat abandoned since 1962. His home has won awards!

Wow, it would be tremendously expensive to restore that old building. Even the brick is collapsing.
Sad to see such building's left to rot, 😢.

All it needed was to keep the roof in good shape…
I have seen several abandoned school, when it is quiet you can almost hear the sound of bells and children.
Awesome old schoolhouse. Thanks for showing it to us.
Omg that’d be an awesome place to save & turn into a home. I love old buildings with bell towers. ❤
Would be neat to see how the inside looked when it was still in operation. I find it sad how this hasn't been fixed up.
It's sad to see beautiful buildings like this abandoned.
Was definitely a regal in its time. So sad it has to simply fade away.
That looked a lot bigger than one room in the 1930s photo

I wanted to see the tower. That's way up in rough County... Heavy snow crushed the roof.. I'm from Indianapolis.. 🙏
Me too! No way up there, unless you have access to a lift

That's a old cigarette vending machine. We had them in the lunchroom too. Times have changed.
If I have a lot of money. I would be obliged to purchase this property
Buy it rebuild it nice house
Perfect place to hide a big payload from a bank robbery in the 70s'
Thunderbolt & Lightfoot. Great ending, great movie.

Thanks man! Mini-documentary National Geographic style, mixed with urbex walk-thru footage, this is what I’m going for!
@@PinetopJackson2 You're doing it! And, I might add, your camera work doesn't make me nauseous.🤣 That's always a plus.
This building should be preserved
Great video!
Thanks man!
Still very sturdy.
1913-1940 isn’t very long
I agree. To build a building of that caliber, and only use it for 27 years is a waste.

Only 27 years of being used for its initial purpose. Those men built it well, but nature, bats last.
Why would it be so torn down thats a shame no one cared
Do you go around fixing buildings you don't own?
One of the headers is crumbling when that fails will collapse a lot of it was built to last for sure.
Great job. Thank u
They don't build buildings to last like that anymore. 😢
Good Documentary
Thanks Tim!
I would love to metal detect around it.
What are some of the coolest things you’ve found metal detecting?
@@PinetopJackson2 I have found mini ball, shrapnel, bottom part of a scabbard, bottom of a sword on the Monocacy battlefield.
A several room one room school house
Concrete or limestone?
Where? I’m seeing brick & mortar with concrete steps….

The date
There's no way you would get that close to a snake in AZ. 17 type of rattle snake. + other shit.
Time to get to metal detector out
No way is that a one room school house

Sad. What a waste.
This building is to big for a 1 room school building.
wooooh couldn't watch it ..camera swing made me dizzy
Quality stone work. Dont look to be in bad shape.
