    The left part of the shower floor has a thicker foam than the right side due to the pitch. How would this work if you wanted to make this curbless? Do you offer pans that have a drain on the long side of the wall?

      We do make custom pre-formed pans to fit any need. That can be generated through your local LATICRETE Sales Rep. Here is a link to the Barrier Free Shower Assemblies manual. You may find a design in here that would suit your needs…

      It should, however we would consult with the board manufacturer and have them confirm roll on waterproofing are approved over it.

    And how do you snake the drain when it clogs if it’s tiled over 🤦‍♂️

      The tray would be removable on a tile in linear drain.

    I would like to know why use 1/2 durock instead of you 1/2 hydroban shower board, I feel durock is a thing of the past. I like your hydroban system. im using it a lot now but I've preferred shluter line drains because of the application I also don't like foam pans they are cheap and will not pass a drop test

      This video was actually created 8 years ago before we launched HYDRO BAN Board, so that is why it is showing Durock. So you are right HYDRO BAN wallboard is definitely the way to go!

      Hello! Thank you for your message. You can, but the pan would need to be modified in order to do this.

    Do I flat trowel the drains underside with 4xlt or comb it? Also, should the inside corners be taped with thin set before the Hydro Ban?

    • @laticrete
      @laticrete 8 років тому +2

      +SmokeyALCO Typically, the notch method under the flange is sufficient to support the flange as long as the flange is set properly on the mortar bed or substrate. Yes, the corners and board joints will require thin-set and alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh tape as directed by the board manufacturer’s instructions. Once the thin-set is dry then the installation of HYDRO BAN can commence.

    • @laticrete

      +tileformiles Yes, LATICRETE 255 MULTIMAX™ would be ideal for the installation of tile or stone over HYDRO BAN® Linear Pre-Sloped Shower Pan.

    Do I have to use your company's mortar?

    • @laticrete
      @laticrete 8 років тому

      Thanks for the question. We highly recommend a medium bed, polymer fortified mortar such as 4-XLT by LATICRETE in order to qualify for our LATICRETE system warranty. If you do not want to take advantage or our system warranty, another brand can be used. We have a distributor locator on our website that you can search using your zip code. We do however recommend calling them prior to ensure they have the exact product you are looking for in stock. You can find it here: laticrete.com/where-to-buy
