long tracks like Le Mans, Spa and Nurburgring really should get an intermediate tire compound so they don't ruin the rain threads in a single lap if half the track isn't wet

This is reckless, they should mandate rain tires as soon as they know rain is coming, for everyone so know one has an unfair gain.
@@hb-ol9oc That's stupid. Sometimes rain doesn't come or isn't enough to make slicks worse. It should up to the teams and drivers to make the call.

@hb how about they stop racing entirely, then? They go 200mph down the straight. What if brakes fail or a tiree pops? These are the safest sports cars in history with some of the best drivers who get paid hundreds of thousands for this. It would be like limiting top speed of the Isle of Man TT from 100kph the risk is a big part of it: "Will you push the boundaries more here or play it safe" this is just another part of it.

Lemans is an an amaxing event with HORRIBLE worldwide coverage. I can't see it at all where I am, even with nearly 2 dozen sports channels. 12 hours from Italy? No problem. lemans? No happening.
Worldwide streaming is needed, or better TV deals. It's stupid to have such an important even with such limited coverage.

Agreed. It seems to change where it is streamed each year as well over here. Just CBA doing all the research on where to watch. It sucks, but I also know I can watch highlights for free and very easily on youtube.

Reverse gears are tuned pretty short try accelerating in reverse in your car its pretty quick up just hits top speed fast.
My guess is that the rear tires are much wider, so going backwards those hydroplane easier with little friction. So less friction, more speed.

@@Stang70Fastback don't comment if you don't watch the race 🤦♂ the only reason the SC takes so long is because of the new procedure which is terrible and the race direction not letting the drivers race in the rain
@@mmethodd I literally watched the first 14 hours straight. The new procedure did its job, and worked relatively smoothly. The commentators themselves said as much.
@@Stang70Fastback the new procedure does not count for the fact that Le Mans is very big race track. You have laps of around 3:26 sec for HY, 3:40 for LMP2 and around 3:55 for GTEAMs. The fact that a class leader can loose all what he had gained during SC (counting for those who were not lapped by him), because there is only 1 at the end, does not make sense here. Instead of using 1 SC they should still use 3 as it was before and let the process of sorting out of classes begin under each of the 3 SC separately. When the queue after each SC looks like it was intended: HY, LMP2 and GTEAM's they could re-start the race. That way you still have relatively equal system which preserves to some extent the situation as it was before SC. Of course there will be always winners and loosers but the only perfect situation would be FCY (not counting here for the fact that if you lack of fuel you basically need to visit pits twice).

Thankfully they let them race unlike in F1 during rain nowdays. The last time F1 was allowed to race properly in the wet was prior 2015, thought we had exceptions like 2016 brasil gp etc.

Very few replays, often no more than 1 point of view, or 5 replays of the same spin and just one replay of a crash... makes is very monotone to watch which considering the amount of action shouldnt be a problem...

No inters in wet/dry conditions is very dangerous on tracks like Le Mans, I don't know what they were thinking asking drivers to do full wet laps on slick tyres on their way back to the pits

Would sure love to watch this huge race LIVE. Sadly I dont live in either of the 2 out of 200 countries you guys deem worthy to watch livestreams without a paywall. Seriously these old fashoned, outdated exclusivity contracts you guys and IMSA have with random channels and streaming services is keeping your brand from growing so much worldwide. Get with the times, literally everybody is on the internet now. An hour ago there were 15 thousand people watching a freaking glitching out onboard cam during a yellow flag. Think of the amount of people you would have watching a full race stream. GTP/LM hypercar is exploding with popularity, ffs learn from SRO and capitalize on it, let people actually watch it!

It's only 5 bucks on motortrend 💀. 5 bucks for 24 hours of racing ain't bad, but yeah it's super annoying. It still baffles me that here in the US you can't watch WEC or Le mans on sports channel like espn with f1 or msnbc sports that has all the IMSA and Indycar coverage.
When a so big event has tv rights it's hard just to make it free worldwide on yt. Companies like eurosport that pay much for the race won't surely be happy.
Thank goodness something interesting happened in those 24 hours to relieve the monotony.
