I think the smaller companies will eye for eastern side of bcm packages. Cause GAS has only loyang. Sengkang package most likely smrt cause of the bus service 110. Maybe bedok or tampines will be for GAS. The cck bpj package will be the bcm package to watch for all. This will be highly contested.
I initially thought that SMRT would cease bus operations indefinitely, but the major win for Jurong West region kinda saves the operator from getting extinct.
Even though might be a bit strange for SMRT in Tuas and Joo Koon as it's their first time operating further in the area, but they have already serve few industrial areas like Kranji and Lim Chu Kang, it will take some time for them to get used to these further areas
It's good that SMRT are not left out anymore for bus packages, after the Tower Transit took over their role in Woodlands and Yishun 2 years ago. It's gonna be a new learning for SMRT in Tuas and Joo Koon as a industrial area
I didnt knew SMRT has the first batch of 2xx routes that SMRT had never had in life 😂. I was wondering what bus models they are taking? Maybe ADL E500 Euro 5, hopefully ADL E500, some MAN A95 Euro 5 along with MAN A22s and what other bus models will retain here? The only good thing about was I finally get to see SMRT bus model running on my favourite bus service 240 in 2024. I would be happy to see it. I may go down in the future to record some final moments before handover to SMRT in 2024.

Nonetheless, I would like to congrat SMRT Buses for getting the Jurong West Bus Package after losing so many bus packages. We'll see how SMRT Buses perform in the Jurong West region! Is it going to be better than SBS Transit or is it going to be much more worse🤔

Admin! Side track abit, Bedok bus package is pretty small only 20 services if we exclude 506… would LTA make some last min changes probably merge with Tampines or draw some services like 137, 197 back to Bedok? Just wondering :D

Which also means each area will have 4 different operators running at their own way for the first time: SBS Transit - Serangoon SMRT - Bukit Panjang Tower Transit - Jurong East Go Ahead Singapore - Pasir Ris

Idk how I feel about SBS-plated B9TLs and Citaros under SMRT, but looking forward to what SMRT will bring to Jurong West.
