i am so sure i made a comment before... but funny i couldn't browse it anymore and now i'm bound with someone who requested me to make one again, blanda this is for you. so--- when i was your man by bruno mars, is set in a key c-major. this is one technical song from bruno mars' album. so technical the key variations of the song suits exclusively only for tenors, high baritone (baritenors) can sing this one carefully, but would be awkward to drop down a single chord. with stell's countertenor, surely there is no problem hitting his belt all the way up c6 or higher. he sang it a notch higher than bruno mars' c5. but both stays on the same octave, 2 octaves to be exact. that's why some of you might think, he sounds the same as the original singer. i was hoping and curious at the same time on how would stell do the scat on the first opening of the song but they jumped on already at chorus. because the scat for countertenors is such a struggle when it comes down to pitch and breathing control. one thing, i'm glad he didn't pull off falsettos the entire song. yay. otherwise he could've find himself lost after a try. i could feel that he might have something in his mind other than this song. just a hunch, this aint his first option. although it was beautifully sang by stell, but sounds like he could've another one instead because when one sings, listeners serve as a bridge to communicate and understand a particular music language. with this version, he shown us how he could pull off difficult songs effortlessly but less conveyance.
