Just watched five different videos on this and some even put a screw through the rail itself which defeats the system's purpose! Anyway, yours was simplest, best, and easiest to understand! Also, you are the hunkiest one, too! Don't know if there's a French translation for that word. Thanks.

Thank you so much! I was getting so frustrated. Ikea does not have instructions for the flush mount clips and i didn't realize that you used one of the parts that came with the rail for the other hanging system.

Hi, do you know what screw size is suitable for this. And how deep you have to drill. Sorry, I havent tried drilling before.
Joe Benz you will just need to drill 2,5 cm deep or 3cm. Screw from 2m should be enough

Good. You showed using the slide system. Ikea's useless video doesn't show them using that in the overhead setup. And if you just use the clip system it just drops out of the rail.

That’s what keeps happening to mine. It just drops out. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. When I do it this way it won’t fit in the rail.

It says online that you can connect two pieces and that each 55” rail needs two brackets. Can i connect two pieces and NOT install the bracket where the two pieces connect? Or is the bracket necessary to hold the two pieces together in addition to the connector piece?

Hey I just bought a brand new build condo and have no clue what kind of screws to use to install this system around my window jam. Any chance you know if there is a standard? Like am I looking at getting concrete plugs or would there be special screws for steel studs? The people at the hardware store have been useless.
Look up Tapcon screws for concrete
Or maybe toggle bolts for drywall. I’m not sure how they’d work for this rail, like if the profile is low enough, but it’s worth checking out.
What size flat head screw did you use?

Everything separate, the track only includes he wall mounting pieces, if you need the ceiling one you need to buy separately

Hi Rochelle, you can use a 6 or 8 mm bit. here it was a 8mm. I hope this help
Does the track come with the very first piece you attached to the screw. The bracket I believe it’s called. Mine does not come with that piece.

This is nothing like mine. I tried the directions and I tried this but the rail don’t slide on. This has been the most frustrating ikea build.

MyATCtv DIY I have the same products but mine doesn’t fit in once I put them together and have them mounted on the ceiling. The rail won’t fit on. Any advice? And I really appreciate this video because ikea isn’t any help.

Wish they had this video at Ikea! No help in store, nothing shown at the point of sale, so you just have to guess on what parts you need yourself while you are standing in the store!! Got home spent over £70 to discover we don't have enough sliding in parts...contacted Ikea... oh thats fine they are sending me more ...in 7-10 days!

Ikea should just use this video to explain how to mount the rail.. there is no mentioning on their video of that little plastic tab that goes inside the rail so the rail was just coming out of the ceiling mount 🙄 thank you!!!!

Better than Ikeas video but the part that goes inside the rail to connect to ceiling bracket you put in backwards. I have not read all the comments so I’m sure you heard this already. When it’s put in with hinge INSIDE vs outside the brackets don’t have to be on the very ends and can be offset 5 or 6”. Still far more helpful than Ikeas crap video
