You can clearly see that Get to Work and Get together were the first packs released: one has a great gameplay but no world (4 lots💀 not even a city), CAS and Build only related to the careers, the other has veeeery big and realistic world (especially the center) but basically no gameplay (the clubs are useful but still not that much). I think they were testing out what the community would appreciate more, an expansion pack with a lot of gameplay or an expansion pack that would focus on the building mode :)
A tip for simmers, you can sign up for EA's playtests to tests their games & you can get between 1 to 3 packs for free. That is how I've gotten a lot of my sims 4 games. Just so you know sometimes you may not always get picked. Also you get the chance to honestly review EA's games.
This is the best Sims pack review I’ve watched out of all of them. It’s detailed but also brief and to the point. I’m getting a new computer soon so I’m finally able to play the Sims on a decent setup and this was very helpful to decide which packs I should focus on first. Thank you for this!!
Just like lots and then EA allows for players to use debug builds like huge structures. But where can you use them? It's very limited space available for them.
@@skywalker6648 The space that they use as debug buildings and fake houses could be used as editable lots. That is true to almost every world in Sims 4
@@westanimesims No, I think you misunderstood me. My complaint as that although they have given us more builds or items to use for building via debug (such as skyscrapers, background buildings, they have failed to add more lots to use them in. Thus, it defeats the purpose of having access to them in debug. Especially, as they are making lots smaller or offering less with each pack.
Your explanation of Eco Lifestyle has just made me realise something horrible - this pack is pretty much The Sims 3 Into the Future pack... except the future is now. We've already reached that bleak and disgusting vs. pure and pristine works options, and it's all up to how we treat our world that decides which environment we have. Evergreen Harbour is present day Oasis Landing :'D
Finally finishing this video. I highly highly recommend the Moschino pack if you are a family Sims player who loves taking family photos and would like to be able to do that better. The pack comes with these marks you put on the floor and you can have your Sims stand on the marks to pose together for photos, even toddlers, even guests, it's great, I take so many photos of families now. You get a tripod and a fancy camera and that's literally the only thing worthwhile in the entire pack BUT if you can get it on sale and you want to fill your Sims house with family photos and cute photos of your toddlers, totally worth it
this video is still so helpful. i've just found your channel a few days ago and i'm obsessed! i love your reviews and you're so funny and entertaining to watch. i laughed so hard when you described celebrities as having "weird alien furniture" lollll
Agree!!!!! City living and cottage living came with sooo much. And of the supernaturals I think realm of magic was the most well done supernatural. 👏 ❤
@@ninaplayssimsi think it was the werewolves tbh because it connects the other 2 packs through lore and realm of magic is so hard and boring to level up compared to werewolves and vampires
Eh, just personal preference to me, friends 🙂 . I love the familiars and I rly like traveling to the realm and the fantasy feel and I like that you can ride a mop instead of a broom lol and I kinda prefer it when it takes longer to level up cuz it just gives me more to do. Us as simmers all have such different play styles and I think every pack is good honestly. I do LOOOOOVE vampires AND werewolves. ❣️❣️ I have all the packs. Even all the kits lol 😅🤣 its a real addiction I swear. But yeah I mean I just really grew up loving Harry Potter so may be why I'm in love with realm of magic. But that's when I wanna play all supernatural. If it's a regular human Sim family I may have a vampire in the household or something but I only have spellcasters in a household if I'm gonna play out like a Harry Potter type of story like a teen runaway who discovers she has powers lol. Still though I'd say 89.999% of the time I play *mostly* human sims and I love cottage living and city living cuz they came with so so much! And also growing together I like what it added to the game like generations for sims 3 🩷🩷🩷
@Caelumization but yeah vampires are my favorites to make in CAS alwayssssss lol. The werewolves drive me nuts till they can control themselves lol but I do like the world and the tunnels and stuff. (I love all things sims
As someone who loves reading and books irl; I had the same reaction you did to this pack. Love your honesty in all your videos and love your sense of humor ❤
I’ve been so stressed lately and your videos are my ultimate escape. Love (and hate) the sims, love your humour and you never fail to cheer me up! Pls keep posting ♥️
The only thing that bothers me about the sims 4 these days is what I have always said, it's *emotionally* shallow. I don't even think the stuff is that bad. Sims are still weird and arbitrary, they don't how to make meaningful decisions, that has always been the main problem for me along with the glitchiness so those just go hand in hand really. Unlike most simmers apparently I actually like most of the fashion and build buy, not everything but it still maybe an unpopular opinion. oh well I guess.
Sims in Sims 4 really are weird, and not in a good way. And to me, they look way too cheerful all the time, their emotions/movements are way too energetic and overexaggerated
When I heard the annoucent of sims 4 and the emotion thing I thought it would be really complex to play, but your sim just need to drink a glass of water and they become happy lol. Their wishes are random and sometimes clash with with the personality trait. Like a lonely sim that want to have a romantic interaction. Unrelated but one of my sims enter the pool then got disgusted because of chlorine, 2 seconds later he jumped in the pool again. I try to ignore these conflicts and just play the parts that are fun.
I wish sims were more autonomous like how they are portrayed in videos. Making them more personalized with traits, preferences, and whims doesn't seem to help enough with that.
The developers clearly have fun doing supernatural stuff because you can do so many funny and weird things and the fun they had making it shows in the gameplay. That‘s why they are so great.
great video, agree with almost everything you said! I would like to add that for me (I have the full dlc), there's also small specific things that just break from certain packs. The tea brewer for example, for me it queues up 3+ times to drink tea autonomously whenever a sim walks past the tea brewer. Like, for no reason. Even if they're dying and all of their motives are low, they still want to drink tea rather than go to the bathroom. It's gotten to the point where I had to remove the tea brewer since it was messing up actions i put in queue. Also the bowling alley doesn't seem to work at all for me. I wanted my sims to play a game together at a bowling alley, I was expecting them to take max 3 or 4 in game hours but no, after 8 in game hours they were still not done with 1 measly game!! I'm just putting this out here so people that were thinking of buying the packs with these specific things know what they might get into. Of course this could be just my game, but I play with barely any mods installed (only MCCC which shouldn't cause problems, I always keep it updated and its a very well created mod). Edit: currently playing and i also forgot to add that the Highschool Years update i believe broke the dust kit. All my sims houses do NOT build up any dust whatsoever, rendering the vacuums useless. I can only use them as decoration which really bummed me out.
This is a great video. It helps me to see what packs to get for my friends as gifts. I think you should do one of this type around Christmas and say what packs for different types of players (family player, romantic, occult lover, entrepreneurial business enthusiast) and budget (expansion, game pack, stuff pack or bundle)
Great guide! I've been playing the base game only on console for a couple of months now and this video is just what I've been looking for. There's a few expansion bundles and specials right now and it's really hard to tell if they're worth the price or what I should prioritize getting for my style of gameplay,so this helped me a lot! Thanks!
Satch: “Weather is necessary.” Is it, though? Without weather, you can use the yard/balcony for hobbies “year round.” With weather those hobby items need to be able to fit somewhere in the house unless you live in Sulani or Oasis Springs.
This is an excellent almost totally unbiased and fair but with the right about of salt thorough overview, lol. Well done! I almost wish I was back in time when I didn't own every single thing. The excitement of researching which one to chose $ and then finally enjoying it in game.. For Dine Out - I tend to always build my restaurants to have some little tiny room for the owner to live in and stay on the lot 24/7. It won't work with kids because when they go to/fro school it'll send you back to the home lot. Same thing for any other adult sims who have traditional jobs. But you can have a couple that tag team welcoming/mgmt stuff and cleaning dishes when the waiters don't do their damn jobs.
I don’t like being positive about sims 4 but a great thing about discover university is you can do the classes from home. I had a sim who took in her niece and nephew after their grandmother died (the parents are deadbeats and grandma took them in after raising the aunt well) and she’s an assistant TA who take uni credit classes online to become a full teacher. Very nice. The thing I hate about snowy escape is that it’s poorly designed. The lifestyles are random and never get used. To get to places you have to travel to a lot and walk here which is stupid. It could’ve been a 5star pack but it’s between 3.5 and 4 for me.
City living, discover university, cats and dogs, realm of magic and werewolves are probably the only ones I will get that I don’t already have, I know a lot of people say university is lacking but I mostly play with teen- young adult sims without families and I think I’d like it.
I really appreciate how you break down the packs oml. I am a hugeeee cc user which leads me to almost never using any maxis items unless it's my only choice. Due to my strictly gameplay focus on packs tho it's usually hella hard to get good rankings for that sort of stuff.. It's so frustrating to have to search through overview after overview cause of differences in me and the uploaders playstyle you know? When Im not taking cosmetics into any sort of consideration i really need the extra focus features/gameplay being added through the packs which you've provided so nicely. I appreicate the in depth while also swift lookovers on everything. Made deciding on any future pack purchases wayyy easier dude you don't even know 🙇♀
What I'd absolutely love is a pack for historical fashion and build stuff. Because it's really annoying that even though there is stuff like that, it's scattered throughout so many different packs. The only pack that really works well in that sense is vampires, but there is stuff like the historical costumes in get famous, and it would simply be amazing if there was a gameplay pack or something like that just for historical stuff.
I really like the way you dedicate yourself to your UA-cam channel and the fact that you post your videos every day, it shows that you really care about your work. love it!!❤️❤️
I honestly disagree with high school years. Although there are some bugs (which makes sense because it’s new) I honestly haven’t had that much fun for a while with a new pack. I expected much less than what they gave us. They gave us graduation, prom, career day, active school, social media, new skills, new activities and much more. If it looks like your type of thing try it out for yourself because people have different expectations and preferences
Thank you thank you thank you for speaking clearly and for covering all the points that we asked for and not just randomly talking bout crap we don't want. Thank you thank you thank you. You just gained another follower for this video. Very well said.
I love Realm of Magic. Really the only problem I have with the pack is that it can make your sim TOO powerful. When you discover potions and get the free sample, NEVER use them. Just put them on a table and copypasto them to make copies. Infinite rejuvenation potions + plentiful needs. Stay the same age and no need to actually take care of your sim. It's almost 'legal' cheating and I love it.
Late comment but just wanted to say how much I love your videos and thanks for your honest reviews of Sims content. You’re one of my go to Sims content creators because of your honest opinions. Got to say it took me a long while to realise how buggy the game was because I’m one of those players who usually only uses occult style gameplay so from my perspective I always felt the Sims was doing an amazing job with vampires, werewolves and spell-casters who felt much more in-depth than they had been before. I feel bad for those family players who want a proper life sim game and have such disappointing content with things like my wedding stories being such a car crash. It does feel like the Sims team currently have a bit of a bias toward that more occult gameplay.
Great video! I have so much to say to many of these packs but I am not able to organise this into a decent post. I LOVE the green living, hippie lifestyles and holistic lifestyle with Wellness (spa day), herbalism (outdoors), Green Living (eco lifestyle), handwashing laundry for my hippies (Laundry day), mindful parenting (parenthood), Mindfulness and lifestyles (Snowy Escape) and off grid living (Cottage Living). I hardly play occult packs, I don't give a hoot about weddings allthough the wedding cakes are cool and I love the Tiny Living build/buy and Nifty Knitting because I'm still a creative, boho, hippy handcraft type of girl. Again, great video, reminding me of so many cool things in the game.
Just looked over all the packs I wouldn't mind uninstalling.. I am embarrassed at the amount of money I've used on TS4, nothing will beat the experience of The Sims 2, and The Sims 3
about journey to batuu: it being a collab with disney offers so many possibilities. a disney franchise collab could have given us a disney land/theme park type vacation world with a bunch of rides, maybe a new job, a bunch of cas and build buy objects, for example toys, halloween costumes, clothing inspired by disney franchises,… granted, it wouldnt necessarily be a pack that i would buy bc im not a fan of themeparks but i feel like many people would be into it and while being a capitalistic disney collab it would still be the sims
I really honestly appreciate you making a video doing all the sims 4 games. I love the sims 3 game but unfortunately I can not play it well on my laptop any more even though I have a newer one built for gaming, because of the bugs and lagienes for it. I have been very anxious and nervous about getting the sims 4 because of it being so broken up and also expensive on top of that. This really helped me decide which games were even worth playing from the ones I liked in the series. Also I have heard that the game play is better on steam, so if you had a lot of issues using origin like I did, it may work a little better on steam.
Ok I need to get something off of my chest real quick, I’ve been holding it in for years and it haunts me. Back when there was that community vote/survey thing they asked what we would like to see in the Sims, and I said Star Wars (because I’m a massive Star Wars fan) and ever since the announcement for Journey to Batuu I’ve felt like it was personally my fault for asking for Star Wars. And the worst part is that I don’t even hate the game pack all that much 😭😭
Was just looking at individual pack reviews to figure out which one to get next (I have a lot of them so I have to be more choosy now lol) and this video was perfect!
41:12 I think that there's more than meets the eye. It's true that bb mode is very popular. But at the same time, there are several house renovation programs which are very popular as well. A lot of these programs came from USA. Also there are some games about renovating houses like house flipper (correct me if i am wrong but I haven't played the game yet). So considering all the stuff I mentioned above, it looks like ea wanted to be a part of this trend.
I think it's kinda funny the sims base games makes you have an outfit for Cold and Hot weather but the weather never changes unless they added that because of the seasons pack I just wish out of everything whenever they make Sims 5 the different seasons would be part of the base game they still could make seasons a stuff pack for Sims 5 that has different items and clothing for each season but we all know EA will never do that because I think every Sims game hade the seasons pack in it and they won't just start making it part of the base game even if everyone would love it
discovery university stressed me outtttt literally i stopped attempting degrees almost immediately. i get the desire for accuracy, but it's still a game. even as an irl college student i feel like i have more time than these poor sims!!
Very good video, very well thought out and quite enjoyable but I have my own answer. "Which packs should I buy for Sims 4" None until they fix the game.
As a Star Wars lover, I really liked the game pack. Yes, it’s pretty disconnected from the rest of the game, but I love the idea of creating myself as a Sim and working my way up to either the first order or the resistance. A lot of fun IMO
City living, cottage living, get to work and get together, and realm of magic if u like supernaturals(just think theyre the most fun supernatural to PLAY) id say are my top choices ❤
You can make it. You can have Trick or Treating and costumes for the day. And the holiday lights and various decorations all have Halloween themed variants.
I like this video because it reminds me of the features of packs I loved when they came out but forgot about so I can revisit them. Also, I listened to this while I was working and you cracked me up lol
I agree with your list, definitely if your like me & switching over to pc after buying all the pack on console 🤧🥹buy them on sale only. My must haves for major changes to base game are: Get to work, city living, dining out, seasons, get together, cottage living, HSY, parenthood, discover university, get famous, eco living, Strangerville, spa day, dream home decorator, jungle aventures, movie hangout, vintage glamour stuff, bowling night, fitness stuff, laundry day, tiny living stuff, nifty knitting stuff, moschino stuff, bust the dusk & little campers kit.
today 2/1/2023 you are my favourite subscribed ytuber. this video is awesome thanks heaps for taking the time to explain every pack to date. thats awesome!!
I have a LOT of packs. I have absolutely NO kits. Some packs I bought just for the CAS or BB items and have never really played them. I just realized, while watching this video, that I have ALL of the stuff packs. Then it dawned on me. The reason why I have all of the stuff packs was because I used them to help me build bundles so that I could get Expansion and Game packs for a cheaper price. There are packs I have no desire in owning. Wedding Stories, Journey to Batuu, Eco Living, Snowy Escape and Werewolves (well, to be honest... I MAY get Werewolves in the future). I am disappointed that High School Years is so glitchy because I would really like to have this one, but as much as it has changed my gameplay by just simply existing I am not eager to have the full effect of the rest of the glitches. Thank you so much for your content and all that you do to help us with the game. Your sense of humor and honesty is wonderful and what keeps me coming back to your channel for more and more of it. You put a lot of work into keeping us entertained and informed and it is appreciated.
What I don’t get in the Get Famous pack is why isn’t there a job to become an artist?? Not only actors and actresses are famous, it doesn’t make sense, one of the most famous people are singers and bands/groups, I wish we had the ability to become an artist in the game and make a band or group like kpop groups etc, that would add much more gameplay to get famous, it’s only fun to get famous one time 💀💀 I also wish we could actually play as the dogs and cats in the sims… why did they even removed that feature 😑
This video has been updated! ua-cam.com/video/cGeMhh4cdZw/v-deo.html

Where can you sign up for this?
How do you sign up for that?
This is the best Sims pack review I’ve watched out of all of them. It’s detailed but also brief and to the point. I’m getting a new computer soon so I’m finally able to play the Sims on a decent setup and this was very helpful to decide which packs I should focus on first. Thank you for this!!
What is interesting is the Build/Buy item count decreases over the years in each expansion pack. CAS on the other hand depends on the theme itself.
Especially, as they are making lots smaller or offering less with each pack.
an hour long video??? yes pls 🤭🤭🤭
I would say the first pack to get is CITY LIVING !!! It’s extremely fun and always have new things to do , it’s very interesting!
Agree!!!!! City living and cottage living came with sooo much. And of the supernaturals I think realm of magic was the most well done supernatural. 👏 ❤
@@ninaplayssims for me werewolfs was the best supernatural pack in gameplay even if my favorites are the vampires
The "this pack is called wicked whims granny" killed me 😂
Time stamp?

You perfectly explained my main issue aswell. I’m always saying I miss memories from sims 2. This is why.
The Sims 4 Base Game Is Now FREE! You only have to pay for packs.
This was eye opening and handy, much thanks sent your way.
Lmao Bro with sims 4 updater u Dont pay and have everything even if y don't want it hahshshhshsa
Do you get discounts in the EA app or just origin??
@@midnightglow104 both, it’ll be discounted platform wide
Thank you for this video!
The developers clearly have fun doing supernatural stuff because you can do so many funny and weird things and the fun they had making it shows in the gameplay. That‘s why they are so great.
An absolute must with Island Living is the mod which renames Sulani to its proper name, Salami
Why is this so funny to me?
great video, agree with almost everything you said!
Thanks!
Satch: “Weather is necessary.”
Is it, though?
This has become my comfort video! I'm back again to see if I should buy jungle adventure:)
This was the most useful video on packs I have ever seen.
Omg, an hour long video, thanks for all the work put into it
Thank you. I am playing sims for two months now and this video really help what packs to get and what not to get. So Thank you!!
I’m so glad I found this channel! I love your personality❤️
Loving the gregs top Satch 🤣🤣
Also I have heard that the game play is better on steam, so if you had a lot of issues using origin like I did, it may work a little better on steam.
man you really push alot of videos out! thank you for your content we appreciate your hard work!
It's nice too see your channel finally taking off. Good work man
Just want to say thank you for the effort you put into this!!!
Perfect timing! I was just thinking about playing Sims 4 again after two years but I am still unsure which packs are worth it. Thanks :)
I wish that some things will come with Sims 5. Like seasons. Things that feel more necessary.
'Every Sims world has a TORY area' HAHAHAHA LOVE IT
You post so many high quality videos, so frequently, how do we deserve you 😭😭😭
This was super in depth! Helpful, given I'm trying to decide between 3 packs right now.
What 3? I know it was 4 moths ago but if you still need help I can give you some maybe!
And the worst part is that I don’t even hate the game pack all that much 😭😭
LOOOOL so ur one of the culprits !!!!
Was just looking at individual pack reviews to figure out which one to get next (I have a lot of them so I have to be more choosy now lol) and this video was perfect!
Bro I just pirated most of the dlcs I stopped giving ea money after cottage living 😭😭
Great video btw I love your channel so far
Thank you for this interesting guide and i highly appreciate your patience and dedication to make these videos
Thanks for your effort! We also want an ultimate guide with your personal funny opinions :D
As someone who is in university, I don't want to pay $50 to pay to experience the stress in my escapism game.
I have basically all of the Sims 4 packs and I still get bored of the game and always run back to Sims 2
"This pack is called wicked whims granny x" 💀❤️
Seasons is the only pack you must 100% get and everything else is pretty much optional, at least personally.
Your videos are informative and very entertaining at the same time Satch!
omg. the only complaint i have of your videos is that they're too short, and then i see this ❤😭 yes PLEASE
Happy with that format from you! Can listen to you all day and all night! I’m glad you came up with the sims podcast. It is a really good idea. RIGHT?
41:12 I think that there's more than meets the eye. It's true that bb mode is very popular. But at the same time, there are several house renovation programs which are very popular as well. A lot of these programs came from USA. Also there are some games about renovating houses like house flipper (correct me if i am wrong but I haven't played the game yet). So considering all the stuff I mentioned above, it looks like ea wanted to be a part of this trend.
Was about to buy a pack last night got on this morning and now it's 30% off, glad I waited lol
I think it's kinda funny the sims base games makes you have an outfit for Cold and Hot weather but the weather never changes unless they added that because of the seasons pack
I just wish out of everything whenever they make Sims 5 the different seasons would be part of the base game they still could make seasons a stuff pack for Sims 5 that has different items and clothing for each season but we all know EA will never do that because I think every Sims game hade the seasons pack in it and they won't just start making it part of the base game even if everyone would love it
discovery university stressed me outtttt literally i stopped attempting degrees almost immediately. i get the desire for accuracy, but it's still a game. even as an irl college student i feel like i have more time than these poor sims!!
This is the best video I was very confused with what pack to buy but now I know which one thanks so much
Very good video, very well thought out and quite enjoyable but I have my own answer.
"Which packs should I buy for Sims 4"
None until they fix the game.
As a Star Wars lover, I really liked the game pack. Yes, it’s pretty disconnected from the rest of the game, but I love the idea of creating myself as a Sim and working my way up to either the first order or the resistance. A lot of fun IMO
Thank you for taking the time to review all of this, well done!
City living, cottage living, get to work and get together, and realm of magic if u like supernaturals(just think theyre the most fun supernatural to PLAY) id say are my top choices ❤
I really love your videos. They’re so calming and I find you funny. You’re really entertaining :)
One friendly correction! Seasons doesnt have halloween you have to buy a separate kit or stuff pack
You can make it. You can have Trick or Treating and costumes for the day. And the holiday lights and various decorations all have Halloween themed variants.
I like this video because it reminds me of the features of packs I loved when they came out but forgot about so I can revisit them. Also, I listened to this while I was working and you cracked me up lol
oh wow satch thought this was was gonna be 1-2 minute videos like your usual format...until I looked at the timestamp
I'll get the sims once it comes out for free, I'll make sure to watch out for some of these for sales :D
I just wanted to comment and say I’m listening to this on my drive home from work 😂😂 My drive is an hour
Make a video about asking ChatGPT what to do in the sims! I asked it to think of ideas for new packs and they were pretty good!
The dream decorated is best with it's objects. It's great for it's modern furnitures.
Thank you! I bet this was a lot of work!
I’m here cause the packs are on sale!!🎉
i’ve never bought anything from the sims for full price and i will stand by that lol
very useful video, helps a lot when decdiing on what packs to put in my next bundle :D
today 2/1/2023 you are my favourite subscribed ytuber. this video is awesome thanks heaps for taking the time to explain every pack to date. thats awesome!!
I own all of the packs and I still watched the whole video LMAO
I like eco living because I love the gritty dirty look that it brings. I just hate the haze industrial areas have.
Not only actors and actresses are famous, it doesn’t make sense, one of the most famous people are singers and bands/groups, I wish we had the ability to become an artist in the game and make a band or group like kpop groups etc, that would add much more gameplay to get famous, it’s only fun to get famous one time 💀💀
I also wish we could actually play as the dogs and cats in the sims… why did they even removed that feature 😑
