I switched over to 5.56 AK’s from my 74s since getting a hold of 5.45 was becoming an issue, and I’m glad I did. Got the ZPAP M90, M85, WBP 556, and a WASR-3. They all shoot great and I have plenty of ammo for them. You are indeed correct about the WBP. She’s a gassy girl.

Not a fan of 5.56/5.45, but I understand why there is the need for a piston based platform. SIG 550, HK416, T91, PSA JAKL, etc. and be happy. If you're not using Stanag mags with 5.56 you're missing the point. AKs should be 7.62x39 and ARs should be 5.56N, and there is no real need for 5.45 or .300 BO (the paper ballistics on that round never meet the real world like they don't with 6.8 SPC!!!), although the 5.45 is an unfortunate military standard cartridge now and .300 BO has its koolaid drinkers. An AK that takes Stanag or at least Galil mags in 5.56? A total waste of an AK. An AR in 7.62x39? You miss out on battle grade mags. I am an advocate of a .30 cal platform, be it 7.62x39 or 7.62x51.
