Aaron act like he wasn’t playing Zoey to the left in the beginning of the series. He only started being serious with her when he saw other men wanted to actually be with her. I hate how everyone forgets that. Zoey was literally all about Aaron in the beginning. Like head over heels! But he was was playing her so she choose men who wasn’t playing games (cash, Luca) like any smart person would do. How the hell is her choosing ppl that choose her playing with Aaron’s heart. I’m proud of Zoey for fighting for her self respect instead of just being a side piece. I feel like a lot of people would stick with being a side piece if they were in love with the person.
I still want Aaron and Zoey together, but Zoey needs to be single for a while and Aaron needs to stop doing Rochelle wrong.
I think Aaron and Rochelle should break up ,and then we can focus on other characters like Jillian. We don't know nothing about her. All we know is that she's a film major and had a financé

To sum up the comments: this relationship they have is no longer healthy(the on & off again playing with each other’s feelings) and Aaron doesn’t owe Zoey anything just because she decided to drop her “dream” job and come back to Cal U for him. Also Aaron shouldn’t have cheated on Rochelle with Zoey(or anyone at all) as it’s leading her on and confusing her even more. At this point I’m just looking for them both to grow up and be mature about all of this. No more of this push & pull stuff. They’re either friends or nothing at all because this isn’t working and clearly isn’t healthy for either of them. But knowing the show they’re going to find a way to make this work and probably have more problems next season. Best of luck to Team Zaaron hopefully things end peacefully.

I think they both are at fault for this situation! Aaron is scared of Zoey hurting him again so is pretty much settling with Rochelle although he is clearly in love with Zoey. Zoey has taken Aaron for granted for the past 3 years and just expected him to drop everything for her. As messy as they are, I love Zoey and Aaron together and I hope Aaron can face his fear and give into his feelings for Zoey. I have been waiting on Zaaron since Blackish, so the writers need to quit playing. Sidenote: Zoey was giving a mean side eye. The way she was rolling her eyes in this scene was cracking me up.

Really beautiful work by Yara and Trevor! ✨💫 We can clearly see the conflict, hesitancy and then thoughtfulness from Aaron when he realizes Zoey may be coming back to Cal U. And Yara portrayed Zoey’s embarrassment and genuine hurt really well. These two have great chemistry and I am excited to see how Zaaron will continue to progress and grow, because they ARE both growing. ♥️♥️

She's also ignorant to just assume he'd leave Rochelle for her. The whole world doesn't revolve around her.

I think the whole "Aaron only showed interest in her when she chose someone else" argument is kind of unfair. People have to remember that was in season 1 when him and Zoey were still getting to know each other so he most likely didn't know how he'd feel about her at the time.

No doubt Aaron cares about Rochelle. However, he is not in love with her. Clearly he is love with Zoey. I believe she is in love with him as well. However, the question is can she handle the responsibility of a grown-up relationship. I can pose that question to Aaron as well. It has been established he had issues with her taking that job with Joey Bada$$. He said she left him. At first he was supportive. I feel he should end the relationship with Rochelle because he is going to hurt her because they are not on the same page. He stepped out on her. End it now and don't go to Zoey right away. He need to take some time for himself in order to figure out what and who he really want. I say the same for Zoey.

I find the whole "Aaron only showed interest in Zoey when other men did" argument silly. During season 1 Aaron and Zoey were still getting to know each other so he was most likely trying to figure out his feelings for her the same way she was trying to figure out her feelings for him, Cash and Luca, why is that a crime? He didn't owe her a relationship at the time the same way she didn't owe him one.
Beside BOTH Aaron and Luca expressed their feelings for Zoey on the EXACT SAME night (S1 EP12).
Plus people can also argue the same for Luca, didn't he act so nonchalant about his feelings for her, diss the idea of going to the dance only to end up showing up? Can't the "only showed interest in her when other men did" argument be used against him too?

Modern day "A Differet World"
To all the zaaron fans, I'm sorry but after watching this episode, zoey does not deserve aaron. She has been playing with this dude's feelings for three years, and she slept with him knowing that he was dating rochelle. She was being completely selfish and egotistical thinking about herself, as she always does. She thought rochelle would be out of the picture after she and aaron smashed. And ana was right in this episode. Just because zoey knew aaron longer than rochelle, does not mean that zoey and aaron are meant to be together. She didn't even feel guilty until she saw aaron and rochelle holding hands together. And in season 1, I'm pretty sure luca was her back up choice, just in case aaron was not available to her. And just a reminder, she should've chose aaron at the end of season 1, then none of this would've happened. And no one forced her to be with aaron or luca, she just wanted a relationship like jazz and doug only because she was jealous. I thought zoey would've learned her damn lesson after getting cut off by dre last season, but clearly she has not, she will never learn. Yeah I myself have a few flaws, but even I'm more mature than zoey. At this point, zoey is officially the new ana

I was speaking on the skin tones of the women characters and how Ryan Destiny's characters and Rochelle seem to just be included as insignificant placeholders and are there just so that the writers/producers of the show can say "Yes, we have dark-skinned women characters on the show." The producer Kenya Barris has been called out numerous times about the colorism depicted in his shows (including Black-ish) by the people he chooses to include as characters.
