I love purples & blues too, though I'm not a great fan of bright colours. I tend to work mostly in cream/ivory/mocha tones, though I do some projects with certain shades of pink, lilac, lemon & blue ....burgundy too. One of my favourite tones to work with now is peach, though I never liked that colour before I started this craft last year. I am altering a box for my youngest son's partner, & she loves purple, so I will be using that colour on her box, but mainly I tend to work in more muted tones.
You are so good at it, please continue doing this, because this is inspirational for watches like me, Thank You, Thank You for delight us with beauty things that full our hearts.

You can get the boxes at Walmart, or through Amazon, but Goodwill, thrift stores and dollar stores are inexpensive. Look for shape, style and depth. Look for old jewelry boxes (even wooden ones), or trinket boxes with lids. Even if they have embellishments already, you can usually take these off, and if they're already covered in paper, you can just paint over it or remove it. Have fun!
Hi Carol, What I said is that they were all gesso'd (?sp)...meaning I covered or primed them with gesso which can be found in the paint section of art supply or craft stores. Hope this helps. God Bless Cathy
