They affirmed that their woke Saints Row will be the best, they aren't backing down, and called their own fans haters over basic criticism. This game sucks and is just as buggy and glitchy as Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 2042, and GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. They were put in a amazing opportunist position to make great Saints Row game in the midst of Rockstar screwing up left and right and they completely fumbled it. Saints Row is officially dead and it's all thanks to Saints Row selling out and pandering to crowd on Twitter that don't play these games.

I seriously didn't hate this game nearly as much as people are screaming about. Yeah the story was annoying and unfunny but the side missions and gameplay are very fun

I imagine the people who worked hardest in this game were the voice actors. Because even with the acting scene the way it is, I can't imagine any of them having gone through any of their lines in one take without cringing. Worse yet is how many of them are notable names from the current crop (Max Mittelman, Greg Chun, Erica Lindbeck, Anthony Del Rio, etc.), yet it's clear no amount of star power or acting prowess can make a terrible script sound good.
I just found out Greg Chun voice acted Kevin. He also voiced Nanba in Yakuza Like a Dragon and Takayuki Yagami in both Judgment and Lost Judgment. He better have gotten a fat check for this. His voice acting is so legendary to be participating in this cringefest.

The devs didn't need to publish something so woke. Saint's Row should've been something the gamers enjoy, not a game where we invest time into the devs woke ideals. It's about us and our enjoyment, not their agenda and money grab.

I've been out of the loop with Saints Row for YEARS... last time I remember they were fighting Space Aliens and shit. So when I heard they turned the franchise WOKE I had to see what was happening 🤔...
Volition decided to chase and pander to the audience that never buys their products. They have no one to blame but themselves for their disaster of a broken and highly woke game.
Is what I say about when game copies go woke go broke I like the Saints Row series by seeing this reboot looking like trash and looking like a Tumblr fanfic seeing the gameplay you can't even shoot people terrible
Imagine how much better this game could've been, if during the gangs naming scene, when they are standing around in the church; all of a sudden, a portal opens (kinda like terminator style) killing the new cast in entirety and out pops Gat, Shaundi, Pierce, Kinzie and the Boss and the first thing we hear is the Boss saying "Where are we Kinzie?" That's the kinda stuff you'd expect from a Saints Row game.

To be perfectly honest, my introduction to the series started with SR3 and I had even enjoyed SR4 and Gat out of Hell. I have yet to play the first two games in the series, though maybe one of these days I will. HOWEVER, even I knew this game was really gonna be a major flop not because it wasn't as over the top as SR3 and beyond, but because of how badly the game tried to appeal to the wrong audiences and how the higher-ups at Volition now have a complete disregard for what made the previous games so much fun to various types of legit fans.
So yeah, you have my sympathy for your frustration with all of this, even though our tastes in previous SR entries may be different.
Damn they really broke promises on the remake is Volition the next Rockstar games @GwoppyTrai?

God damn this guy is pissed (rightfully so tho) I'm only enjoying the new "Saints Row" bc summer lacks good content for games and I've got nothing other to play other than shitty battle pass games and I treat this game like Saints Row 4 and Agents of Mayhem I enjoy them as a game not as a saints row game bc they are not saints row games agents of Mayhem was only worth the £5 I paid for it. Those games ain't saints row. Saints row 4 had SR characters in it but to me wasn't a True SR game.

Seriously though, I will admit the only thing I kind of like in the new one is cruising around the city. Most missions are meh. Creating businesses is explained to the player very poorly and the controls are awful. The story, it's clearly been written by a bunch of work colleagues on a beer mat in a pub after downing six pints each on a Friday night and handed in to manager's office Monday morning.

I'm not even 3 min in and all I have to say is thank you. for the love of god thank you for this rant. I am beyond rational anger at this point for what they have done to one of my fave games ever. man you know how cool it was to lead my gang as a crazy metal head or a pimp or all these fun things you could do. saints row 4 was bad One time on my 1st playthrough on it i loved the callbacks and had fun, and every time after I was just like Steel Port sucks ass a 2end time around dude we already explored every inch of the place in the 3 WTF is this shit. I dreamed last night when I finally went to bed that oh they can reboot the reboot by playing off 4 and the reboot as some nightmare dream you wake up from after SR3 and just go back to 2 but with todays graphics.........then I woke up sad no this is real its the death of a franchise.

If i was writing the Saints Row right now man how would i fix it i would just have the saints row 3 4 and reboot not canion and it was just a crappy movie made be Pierce and the real true boss and Johnny Gat were watching it and there like wtf was that and there say how much there hated it and then the Boss goes up to pierce and slaps him ans says your never making a movie again and if you ever come up with anything like this again your dead then the boss decides to start expanding the Saints Empire to different citys and you go to war with someone who really should have been the main villain Dex and since ultor has been wiped out in stillwater Dex has no where left to go nowhere left to run this time and it comes down to a final battle and the boss finally gets revenge and kills Dex for good

They literally only had to do a reboot with Johnny Gat present, hes their best character hes the only supporting character that has his own game. (even if you can play Kinzie in that game.) The Main selling point was Gat.
What’s woke about it?. All I heard was 15 minutes of chipping out.
And good companies that put out good stuff like Telltale Games get to die? but this crappy company and Naughty Dog don't? they shoulda went outta business not Telltale.
I've found that by messing with the difficulty sliders you can make the game at least enjoyable.
Add full lock on, and you can basically CoD tap aim onto people.
And if you put ammo scarcity at 0 you'll always have ammo.
But still, I shouldn't have to tweak a game to make it playable.
It's so disappointing.
It's incredibly sad to see what games have become. Here we were as kids daydreaming about how much better games would get but seems thesedays the more you pay the less you get. I know this sounds pessimistic but it's just my opinion knowing how cool the older games were where Devs actually tried to make masterpieces with limited hardware. Now the technology is there and what do we get now? Woke rubbish that nobody asked for! This doesn't appeal to anyone and I am so glad sane people out there are saying enough of this and are voting with their wallets and voicing what a shit show Hollywood, music and gaming has become. There are of course exceptions here and there but our franchises that we grew up loving have been systematically destroyed. Replaced by what? Something better? Haha we can dream! No we get millennial, snowflake culture crap that we can't relate to.

7:41 the tires do pop when you shoot them, the day one patch might have fixed this if they didn't before because I have 100% fact that they do take bullet damage and the vehicles also have damage models.

To be fair, I enjoyed Saints Row 3 (and later 4) because it had an almost fantasy level of idolization of being a “gangsta” to it that I felt made it somewhat unique. I understand people didn’t like it, and that is fine, but i think it had a nice duality with GTA.

The problem is rather simple to me they've already explained that character customization is not going to be the same as the previous games which would have been a good thing except for the fact that it's gender fluid there is no mail there is no female you can't add tits and you can't add a buldge.
Yet sr2 sr3 and sr4 allowed diverse and unique character customization they have stripped the game of its uniqueness by doing this and I for one will not be getting the new game until they fix this error.
Nor will I consider it cannon no I'm not a one-minded bigot but I am merely stating facts gender fluid is fine IF PUT IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

I mostly blame Kotaku. They were the ones that directly complained to them on several occasions about the M-rated content they didn't like. From SRTT. You can compare the adult tone of SRTT's character marketing and designs, to the nerds they resold thinking it would better fit the demands of game journalists. So they made these characters for them. Yet even they dont even like them, which is again the same problem. You can also blame their new creative director who like many other reboots had no idea what he was working on but put his own cringy ideas over it and felt his ideas along with their artist, was better. They weren't.

Saints Row reboot worst game of 2022
Some people are trying to compared the SR reboot to Watch dogs 2 but man... Watch dogs 2 had way more dark moments like the slave trade controlled by those chinese gangsters, Horatio's death (which it was very brutal and sad imo. F for Horatio) and those disgusting P-words running a child *** graphy buniness and Wrench was tortured by the F.B.I.

My 2000s childhood days were perfect, I don't even remember seeing bugs during that time however I never noticed i enjoyed the storyline and the gameplay not all of this crap we are seeing hyping up "customizattion" and funny thing is that type of customisation are not even part of the story. Gaming died as soon as they released ps4. Pretty sure when gta 5 was released , ps3 could run it

They were making games within months. Like 5 months and pushing them out to bank on what they could. They all wanted a piece of the gaming pie as it was growing. And where these coop games? Multi-player games? No. Single player games. That almost quite literally destroyed the industry here in the west. This was way before the 2000s Era as well. Also during our 2000s Era we had a shit ton of shovel were. Those games were also being made in 6 months to a year. You all are delusional and looking at the past with rose covered glasses. Can almost guarantee if we got into a discussion about it we could point out many of the hypocrisy in yalls logic of gaming and the industry.

I for real think that all the devs that worked at volition during 2006-2008 aren’t even there anymore. Never thought i’d say this but volition has stooped even lower than rockstar. Sure rockstar might be more greedy but at least they don’t completely destroy their IP’s and shit on fans for giving valid criticism. Saints Row 2 is hands down one of the best open world games of all time. It’s honestly just sad to see another franchise destroyed by woke culture and modern gaming.

According to various interviews back then; majority of the original staff left after the original lead creative director resigned during SRTT’s early development stage. Many of them weren’t happy with the new creative director’s vision for the game, with the devs that stayed; leaving shortly after IV’s launch.

It’s okay dude we can’t always be right and get things wrong that’s what makes you human. As a female OG saint row fan when I heard they were doing a reboot and saw the graffiti on the wall I was genuine so excited. I thought they were going back to gangster roots with obviously a modern element and with the wall I thought oooo we are gonna get a gritty city like Stillwater but then when I saw the CGI trailer my heart and hype just broke. I hated the western desert feel and did not like look of the characters in that trailer and in comparison to saint row cgi first look trailers the saints didn’t even shoot or kick arse. I was like wth. I went from excited to just angry but I thought to myself give it chance watch you tubers first play the game before buying it myself as I’ve got saint 1,2,3 and 4(even though 4 is crap) I could be wrong with the judgement like I did with red dead redemption 2. I didn’t like Arthur Morgan and was like I wanna play John marston. When playing that game I fell in love with Arthur Morgan even thinking he was my new favourite character in rdr series. Anyway off topic watch Sr reboot gameplay and cutscenes and boy my instincts were right from the CGI trailer. The characters were cringy as they look and didn’t evolve at all. The story was just bad. The reboot achieved the worst ending in Sr history with a dumb karaoke party at the church of the wannabes butchering love shack giving bad saint row 4 and GOH vibes. The open world looks soulless too. Thank god I didn’t buy. I’m refusing to play even if free on pass. Playing this garbage would be insult as OG saints fan. I’d rather just play saint row 1 and 2 to cure my grieve seeing a franchise I once loved go down in smoke

I largely agree bro but only for the major AAA and occasional AA games. Since there is some amazing smaller games that dont get enough recognition like 13 Sentinels
