I was recently recommended to your channel via Reddit! I unfortunately didn't pass my 7 this past Tuesday and have been watching your videos and cannot thank you enough for the way you articulate the subjects and go through them, Will definitely be recommending your videos to others!
Trying to get the word out. Always hurts when I think the lectures might have made a difference in finding just a few more points a candidate may need to make their mark.
DEAN!! Passed my SIE! - After missing it by 1 my first time around! Just wanted to pop in here and let you know again how beneficial your videos are!! On to the S6TO! Thank you!!
Kudos on your SIE testing victory! I am sure you will you mark on your 6, too. Always very gratifying when my videos contribute to test taking victories like yours.
Thank you for your thorough, informative and entertaining information for studying and passing these exams! I truly appreciate you. You're a great instructor!
I learn so much from your full detailed lectures😀. I appreciate all your time and dedication to us, the test takers. I cant thank you enough for all that you do for Us.
You don’t know how much I appreciate what you do! Taking me series 7 in 10 days and then my 24 end of November. Your explications are a life saver thank you thank you!
Thank you, Dean, for posting this lecture. I really appreciated the structure. You are so thorough and clear in your descriptions. I am studying for my SIE and 7 and this type of lecture is exactly what I was hoping to find! I've subscribed and will be watching your lectures as I progress.
Hey Dean- Easier way (for me anyway) to calculate the bid/ask on the muni- 102 1/4 = 102+.25 * 10. 1 divided by 4= .25 plus the 102 so 102.25*10 = 1022.5 and on the Treasury - 98.08 take the 8/32 add to 98 and *10 so 8/32=.25 + 98= 98.25*10= 982.5 Just throwing that out there. I feel like sometimes the math is explained harder than it is- not necessarily just by you.
I thought the spread would be .25 or 25 cents? I’m not the best at math but it seemed simple until I watched the video and it got more complicated in your comment. Help please!
Quick one for you Dean… you say QIBs are allowed to buy unregistered foreign and domestic securities. But I thought SEC only had jurisdiction in the US… aren’t all foreign securities already unregistered?
They are unregistered foreign securities that can be purchased by US QIBs. Your point is NOT a testable distinction. Foreign securities may be registered in the US. Most are not.
Your videos are the best!! A few questions... In a quote, is the bid quote always listed before the ask quote (left to right)? Do I just assume that the bid is always on the left and the ask is on the right? Is the ask quote always higher than the bid?
One of my competitors said this lecture was too much and that you could be a trader after watching it. It meant as a dig but I took it as a compliment. LOL,
@@jimmytorres6213 wow. Thanks for spending that much time with me. I have been meaning to total up the hours in the Series 7 playlist. When I teach the Series 7 class it is three or four days. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more hours in the Series 7 playlist than hours in a Series 7 class.
@series7Guru which lectures would you recommend for series practice exam practice. I realize I just need coaching in how to approach or dissect what the Q is asking before getting nervous
Hey Dean, I’m taking the 7 soon. And I am not as strong in regards to individual participants in the different exchanges. Should I spend a lot of time studying in this target area?
Hi Dean, these lectures are very helpful and your time is much appreciated. For the 144 requirement, as a control person is the 6 month holding period only required for restricted stock versus control stock?
DEAN THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE LECTURE, I JUST PASSED MY SIE AND WANT TO START WITH SERIES 7 AND 66, DO YOU HAVE LECTURES DIVIDED BY CHAPTERS OR IS IT RANDOM, ALSO PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW DO I START WITH THE STUDIES, I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY EMPLOYER TO GIVE ME STUDY MATERIAL BUT DONT WANT TO WASTE MY TIME IN BETWEEN, YOUR LECTURES ARE VERY HELPFUL, THE LECTURES HELPED ME A LOT FOR MY SIE PREP TOO , BIG THANKS ONE MORE TIME
KUDOS!!!! The lectures are in the playlist in the order they should be watched. I didn't tie the narrative lectures to any chapters in any test prep vendors study manual because I want the lectures to be independent of whatever study manual a subscriber has. So it doesn't match up to Kaplan chapters or STC chapters or PassPerfect chapters. The lecture would match up based on subject matter. For example, margin is margin. So every study manual will have a corresponding chapter to my lecture on same.
Hey Dean, do you plan on producing any lectures in the future geared towards folks who are also looking to get their Series 86/87 licenses? I'm finding that I am really enjoying the research and analysis side the retail market.
Hi Thomas, I am curious if you found any material you like for the Series 86/87. I may eventually take on that side of the business and would be curious to take a sneak peak.
@@elizabethmiller5445 as of this moment I have not. I can't bring myself to spend the $300 or $400 on study material until I have a sponsor who would reimburse me. But let me know you if come across anything you like Elizabeth.

Awesome video, this really helped me understand the strategy on bond yield questions
Thank you. So glad when I hear it was helpful.
great lecture thank you!!
Thx
Timw stamp 29:39 where did you get 900 from? The coupon says 8%
900 is the discount price NOT the yield or coupon.
@@Series7Guru so how would i know it is 900 moving forward? 900 isnt always the number it “cost” me right?
@@ericat2485 either the price or the yield is given. After you lay some base knowledge do some practice questions to see how it is tested.
Can you just multiply by 10 for the bond quotes?
yes
Hi Dean, these lectures are very helpful and your time is much appreciated. For the 144 requirement, as a control person is the 6 month holding period only required for restricted stock versus control stock?
Yes. But a seperate rule is the short swing rule. An insider to make a short swing or avoid a short swing loss. That is a different 6 month rule.
Thanks. very helpful.😀
Glad you found it helpful.

Is the minimum spread for corporate and municipal bonds 1/8 or 1/32? 46:58 it says 1/8 and 1:09:00 says 1/32. I'm confused.
In corporate and munis 1/8 and in 46:58 treasury notes and treasury bonds 1/32 1:09:00. They are different and that difference is testable.
@@Series7Guru thank you!
