I have to say this was one your best playthroughs... Not only you did a great job handling 3 players but also it was the perfect mix between rules explanation and showcasing the gameplay... Kudos!
Wow, that is an interesting board!! I want to play it just from looking at it!
While Tula was not able to build a bridge... she could have collected it and kept it for a later turn as far as I can see in the rules. (15:30)
Family programming note (especially if you have this up on the wall-mount screen cranked up for your children to learn). ua-cam.com/video/kEUzqxuX0mE/v-deo.htmlm23s
Hey Rahdo!@28:10 shouldn't green be the first player because the green disc is on topn of purple?
good catch, note added :)
Was wondering where someone in the States might find a copy of this game reasonably priced. While the game play looks good, it's only part of the reason for my want, one of my children was born in the Yunnan province of the PRC. Any help would be appreciated.
great runthrough as always :)
One question, Pu'er seems to have a spot for a trading post, although it doesn't pay anything, but does that mean that you have to have a worker/trade house there to go out further?
From what i've seen, it seems that way, though rahdo got both of his green workers further than Pu'er without having something left behind, i guess it was a bit of a mistake. So you get a trading post in Pu'er, you get no income for it, but you never have to leave a worker behind i guess.
Raclariu Claudiu you would think that, but nope, i was correct this time (a rare occurance, I know!) :)
no one knows why there's a $0 spot in Pu'er for trading houses, but the designer has gone on record confirming that you DO NOT need to have a presence in Pu'er to consider your trade chain intact.
I started a thread about the mystery indicator on the board here: www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/1114583 hopefully someone in the know will eventually answer...
***** Having a trade house there made me think that Pu'er was included in the chain too, though it seems it isn't, bit strange. That spot could make for some house rules for chains i guess to make the game harder. Also love your videos, keep it up, you're #1 "board game dude" on youtube :)
Nice!
it's "chinghai" lol "q" has a ch sound in Pinyin
Don't these game reviewers ever have any friends to demo the play through with them? Watching one person play against themselves is not optimal.
I *wish* I could play games w/ Rahdo and Jen!! But they are in Malta and I am in Columbus, OH.
Once in a while Jen plays along.
