I mean it didn't feel like much of shock, the betrayal of valax? maybe i was expecting it subconsciously lmao
I think valax knows something more about watcher that we don't, which further proves the theory that watcher is evil.
That CG was beautiful! also liked Nia's character development of her choosing to stay in the shadow form because she was free, sounds like the light has taken a heavy toll on her soul.
Also I think the way valax called for her mom after having watcher as well gives way to the theory that the ash empress could be nifara the first old god (elf god) who gave into corruption due to her actions that were proved in the letter the dwarf showed us.
This could also give in to another watcher theory that he doesn't have necessary power to defeat her (ash empress) completely so wants to seal the two realms off, so she doesn't regain her ultimate power.
MC defeats her by using true magic and then both realms have gateways open to each other.

Valax's mother is hot. And I knew that something will go wrong, I had this feeling, but I didn't expect that Valax will be able to drag our shady ally into Shadow Realm. And I think I'm glad that she managed to do this because Watcher will not be able to evade answers, which I'm still waiting from him.
Not surprised that this series is carrying Choices rn
I dont know why but it seems like they put effort into making every other female character besides Valax very attractive and interesting visually?

Wow, what a cliffhanger. I had a feeling that Valax was going to betray us. I knew we shouldn't have trusted her. However, it does show that she cares about her people. So hopefully she she's the real truth and decides to come back and help us defeat her mother and all the other bad guys.
Also, does this mean in the next chapter we are going to fight Valax's mother? Hopefully, all our other friends and allies will come to help us in the final battle.
Yeah, the Watcher seems kinda sus: He hasen’t made his presence known to anyone except the MC, if he is so powerful then why does he not close the rifts himself? I think that the Watcher (who I have nicknamed Discount Gandalf) is a realm-walker as he is capable of telepathy, something that is exclusive to realm-walkers. There is clearly an impostor among us (not among us per se but among us outside our group).

@@akshayamaddula8662 i can't help but think nifara is the ash empress 🤔...that letter is most confusing of all things...it will surely become clear at end.
I like this development for Nia too. She was being brainwashed by the temple since she was a kid and just as she was opening up in Book 1 because of MC and the group. Then it all goes downhill for her gets kidnapped by Aerin -> gets possessed by Dreadlord -> has to sacrifice herself in order to save everyone -> loses MC for a year -> in that year learns that the shadow didn't leave her body -> puts all her time reforming the temple and helping everyone except herself. Nia made helping people her way to cope with the loss of MC and that was a really bad thing for her mentally. That's why the second she accepts the shadow all the things she kept within herself bursts out and the only way she can become the best version of herself is when she learns to think about herself and be a little selfish ( Like Shadow Nia) but still care for others (Light) and she can most likely use the true magic.
We finally meet our BBEG in the Ash Empress (Whom I will be referring to as Momma Ash from here on out). Anyone else getting Diablo 4 vibes?
So, Grandpa Elf can teleport into the shadow realm? IMO, that makes him even *more* shady. If he's so intent on closing the rifts, knows where they are, and can go into the Shadow Realm, why doesn't he tell us where they are in the Light Realm, teleport to their shadow side equivalent and close them from there? Save us going neck deep into enemy territory.

i think the watcher is lying but not necesarily the great evil that people have him as its probably more like how dumbledore lied to harry about his knowldege of horcruxes

Apparently there is a new book coming out soon, called Guarded. Immediately I was like...no way this is about what I think it's about. Witness is one of the most hated Choices books ever, they wouldn't recreate it, would they? And bases off the synopsis.....yes they fucking did. I suggest you play at least the first chapter, and then there is no expectation for you to continue, just so you can say you gave it a shot. But if you skip it entirely I don't blame ya
