Hi, you used the wrong oil. your owner's manual clearly states the oil needs to have APISH or higher with JASO-MA2 being the primary choice or JASO-MA as acceptable alternative. This is on page 102 of the owners 's manual. What this means and it should be stated how important this is for the life of your clutch. Your oil choice is ok for just the engine. Motorcycles use the same oil to lubricate the engine, clutch, and your transmission. Straight engine oil will make your clutch discs degrade and slip burn. Transmision gears sheer oil faster than an engine does. For those two issues there is an additive package in the correct oil for that. That is why the correct oil for motorcycles is so much more expensive. Like $78.32 for a four-liter jug of Motul 7100 at Cycle Gear or Revzilla. I can't believe this video is at least two weeks old and nobody paid attention to what you were using and not say something.
Well actually you don't need the 7100 Motul for it you can get a $10 per 1 quart Mobil 1 Racing 4T which has API SN that is latest than API SH it is also JASO-MA2 and JASO MA that are designed for wet clutches which CFMOTO 450SS has. In the video it looks like he did not use JASO MA2 rating or API rating and it looks like for cars lol. When I got my first service on my CFMOTO 450SS they used MAXIMA PRO Plus 10w-40 which exceeds JASO-MA2, APISH and for 4 stroke engines and has ester formula. In the end it's all about what brand you like that meets the requirements for the 450ss but Im not sure if the oil he bought doesn't meet JASO MA2. Motul oils cost a lot but they are popular and really smooth the 300V and 7100 is almost the same price in Amazon about $2 difference
@@stewwey4059 There is no question or guessing if he used the wrong oil. I was not trying to say Motul was the only option. I made him aware of the service kit from CFMoto that is a bargain @49.95. It is not pure synthetic oil. It is a blend. Motul from Amazon is not a bad deal if you buy the 4L jug. I have a source to buy it from for $52.25 out the door. Since 99% of all motorcycles available today have wet clutches, I would have thought someone would have seen his video and said something. Like I said it was viewed for two weeks by the time I saw it. I just felt bad for the guy.
Clean oil with the right viscosity and level is critical for the longevity of your bearings. Good job!
Gotta prime that filter too, my boy. 🤣

You know you can buy a service kit from a cfmoto dealer for each specific bike, and the 450 sr uses 10w40
Hello, I do not know why you sent this to me because I told Brandon the same thing 14 hrs. ago. Any way yes you are right.
