- Probably one of my 10 all time favorite songs! The Knack and 'My Sharona'. Contrary to popular belief; the band were not One Hit Wonders, and kept recording into the 21st Century. A worldwide smash in 1979, 'My Sharona' reached #1 in Italy, Canada, Australia and of course America where it stayed for 6 weeks and was the best selling record of that year. It sounds just as good today as it did all those decades go. Some creative soul created this extra generous version and I have great pleasure in making and sharing this clip.
I own none of the images or sounds featured herein, but do own a never ending affection for this stomping, infectious and liberating piece of power pop.
One of the most not talked about guitar solos of all time.

Absolutely right...as a hack guitar player since 1982, I rate this solo in my top Ten.

The guitar solo is obviously astonishing, but the unrelenting bass and drums add so much to it. And then they all perfectly coalesce at 5:35. Just perfect.

I do not know of too many "one hit wonders" that have a Multi Platinum debut album and a Gold follow-up. Due to the fact that My Sharona was the Knack's only #1 hit (and Top 10 hit), music fans forget that they had such a great and diverse body of work. Six albums, with other songs that cracked the Top 40, including Good Girls Don't which reached #11. The Knack were a very underrated band, Zoom and Round Trip were excellent albums.

The object to this should be to change it while keeping the original version. Some, all they do is extend certain parts to lengthen the song. It actually does nothing of mixing, just making it longer.
