Yep!! I found this video, because I was trying to organize my Waves licenses for use in my new Mac Studio. The who process is amazingly frustrating, so I'm abandoning Waves plugins for good. I have the paid version of every alternative you mentioned. I love those Waves plugins I'm leaving behind... but now, it is time to just leave. Great video!! 🙂👍🧡
Thank you so much, really glad to be of any help. I still need to go back and do my FULL Waves-alternative video...stay tuned. And yes: Waves registration/WUP is insane. If you forget to de-register your plugins when you get a new computer, you have to WRITE A PHYSICAL LETTER to their office, begging them to release your license. It's nuts.
Got a few alternatives I found. Not free but quite cheap. 01. Bx_Townhouse compressor for Waves SSL Buss Comp. It sounds really similar to SSL Bus Compressor 2 and currently on sale for about $39. A great choice. 02. For Waves F6, Toneboosters' EQ4 is the best choice at $29. It's probably even better. And plus, the demo version is fully functional and never expires. Only saving preset is unavailable.
Wow, great suggestions! There was a ton of competition for the SSL Buss Comp, but that's a very good one, especially at $39. And I forgot about Toneboosters! Great call. I'm going to test that out now. Cheers!
Some great selections. Even though Studio Rack is free, it seems right now that you can’t add it to your account unless you already have it as it just points to the subscription. Hopefully this will change soon and it will go back to being free to those that don’t already have it.
Hmmm...thanks for that. I hope they make it properly free again! You used to be able to just add it to your account, damn. Thanks for pointing that out!
Great question! Off the top of my head, I'd say AgeanMusic's Pitchproof (free), or Tonebooster's VoicePitcher (paid, but the demo never times out). I don't use Soundshifter much (I generally use my DAW's pitch/timeshifting processing for such tasks), but it's a useful little plugin. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Went to buy the Red Rock Bass enhancer, but gave up. They don't have a purchase option on their site, and you have to go through some third-party sites that seem a bit sketchy (don't use typical login options or payment processors). I hit a brick wall with verifying my email address through some Russian service that was blocked. After looking into this, it appears that Red Rock is in Russia and likely can't get receive money directly due to international sanctions from the current political situation in Ukraine. As such, I'll have to keep looking for an RBass alternative from a non-sanctioned country. Also downloaded the TDR Nova, but found that at 96kHz, its latency is sub 1ms, but at 48kHz, it jumps to almost 4ms, which is too long for my needs with live audio production. I need zero or ultra-low latency plugins and unfortunately, the Nova doesn't fit the bill. For studio work, it's not an issue though.
That's a shame about Red Rock Bass! I do agree that Red Rock Bass Enhancer has a very sketchy purchasing path. I was biting my nails while I waited 24 hours to get my download links. I live in Canada, and I didn't run into any payment blockades, and I got an email from the developer about a day later with links. I actually bought the wrong plugin (the exciter looks identical), and they changed my license right away. The only other plugin that I thought came close to RBass's smoothness was Denise Audio's Bass XL. Maybe check that out. As for TDR Nova, that's a good point about latency, for live dynamic EQ solutions. I would say, at that point, you pretty much have to look at the paid solutions like Pro-Q, Kirschoff, Sonnox, etc, unless your DAW has a good one (Cubase's is okay)! Cheers, and thanks so much for the comments!
@@palebluedotstudios Ha... I just bought Denise audio's Bass XL earlier today. I was also considering the new SSL Subgen, but figured I'd try the less expensive one first. I agree about the dynamic options. Hoping for Pro-q3 or Kirschoff to have a sale at some point. I'll keep using my F6 for now since I have a perpetual license. I wish SSL would add a dynamic option, or just add it to their X-EQ2.
@@jeff92k7 Oh, that's great; you bought the Denise Bass XL! I'll probably pick it up some time soon. The SSL Subgen sounded a bit more like kind of bass enhancer that just produces rumble, but I'll have to try it out. Good call on the F6. Sadly, FabFilter does have sales once or twice per year, but 25% off of $169 is still quite a bit. Cheers!
great video, will check out red rock sound enchancer, i have Unfiltered Audio Bass-Mint on the ipad but don't have anything to compare it with, has anyone tried Unfiltered Audio Bass-Mint?
Thanks, Hann! You know, I missed Bass-Mint because I mistook it for bx_subsynth (which I did not like as an RBass replacement)! I definitely used Bass-Mint when I had my Plugin Alliance subscription, and I can say it's a VERY worthy alternative to RBass. When I post my complete list of Waves alternatives, I'm going to include that. Cheers!
@@palebluedotstudios appreciate your reply, i don't really have an astute ear when it comes to comparing the results of particular plugs so i'm always relying on people like yourself to help me make the best decisions.. thank you!
Thank you! AirWindows is not suitable to use on a full mix, i.e. for mastering, because it is an amp sim and introduces distortion which would make the mix sound weird. It’s fine for individual tracks!
Erratum: MSAT-MULTI is NOT free: it's on sale for $15.99. My apologies, I screwed up in my script and forgot it was not my free choice.
Happy that you like the Red Rock Sound Bass Enhancer, as a beta tester they put a lot of work into their plugin.
@@aviatedviewssound4798 You go to beta-test it? Very cool. Yeah, it's the best bass enhancer I've heard in decades. Cheers!

OMG I'm getting right on that Red Rock Exciter!!
Yeah, it's amazing! I think I said "Exciter" in the video, not "Bass Enhancer", which is the correct name. They look identical, too.
If you have the OLD SSL Buss Comp you can upgrade for free to the new one.. At least you could at one point. Great Video
Thanks for the tip! And I'm super glad you enjoyed the video! Cheers.

M-Sat Multi is not FREE that I see, its on sale though, might want to look into that as we do not see it for FREE but still a good price it seems.
Shoot, sorry about that! I got confused in my script. Thanks for pointing that out!
Thanks for your hard work
