250 hours on it now since the test flight. Time for us to do an update video soon, we've gone to great lengths to remove all external antennas except for the comm... lookin pretty slick.
For the sake of getting the video uploaded sooner I left out info in the video. Figured there would be discussion in the comments. MT Prop is fantastic. It’s a carbon fiber wrapped wood prop with stainless leading edge; no service life limit; vibrations reduced immediately and we haven’t balanced it yet; 30 lbs lighter than the 3 blade hartzell. No rpm restrictions which I feel makes it safer in the pattern, power can be adjusted as needed. The explanation given to me is the 4 cyl lycoming hits like a diesel between 1950-2350 and the aluminum blades can’t absorb the shocks for long. No problem for wood. The CG moved back significantly and I was surprised at how much it reduced the effort to fly the plane. Seemed to be a constant trimming battle before, might address that with the annual in a few weeks. During run up, the rpm returns instantly when cycling the prop which took awhile before. I was told it will be necessary to slowly advance the throttle to prevent over speeding the engine. I’ll get a better feel next weekend on vacation to Montana. Speed isn’t any better in cruise but it put me back in my seat on takeoff along with 200+ fpm climb increase. One thing I forgot; 3 blade Hartzell is 74” diameter and 71” for the MT, 1.5” improved ground clearance.
@@marshallcarter6106 12,000 for the prop, 800 for shipping from Germany (it was already stateside but they pass on the shipping cost), 2000 for the Field Approval paperwork. It's the 2nd gen scimitar. Prop arrived 10 days before the paperwork. I've put about 20 hours on it now, worth every penny.
Really good cheese! I love how in one video she's in pieces, now so proudly soaring. I heart old machines

That was a lovely flight, thanks for taking us along! Was great to see Pacific City, I used to surf there several times a week in my college days.
Enjoyable video….liked the low key music. Great scenery during the flight. Congratulations on your rebuild.
Wanted to hear more about what you thought about the MT prop. I'd love to get rid of my Hartzel and its AD.

@@HairHelmet Mind saying what you paid for it?

@@HairHelmet Cool, thanks. Mine will be up for overhaul in the next while, and I'm considering it.
@@marshallcarter6106 I went back and forth with a guy in Ecuador who put one on his C a couple years ago, he said I wouldn't regret it. He was right.
