Crazy Jake was my Uncle - my father's youngest brother. I didn't know him - I just knew of him. He was born and raised in Kearney, New Jersey, as was my father.

My brother and I were working for Crazy Jake when Bob Corbin caught up with him and put him in prison. We used to listen to his stories about gold bars, how the military would swoop in and take the gold out in helicopters, and then deceive Jake out of the money. At the time, Jake, his girlfriend, and their numerous little dogs were staying in the Casitas at the El Conquistador hotel in Tucson. Jake drove an old Jeep painted gold. (LOL)
Jake would send me, my brother, and another boy named Scott up into the mountains for 3 or 4 days at a time, as Jake was in poor health and would remain at the hotel. We would scout around and dig where he instructed us based on photos taken from the previous trip.
We were in Squaw Canyon, right across from Triangle Cave-the cave you showed in the video.
One time, we actually thought we found the cave that was supposed to hide the entrance to the mine. It was quite exciting for a group of teenage boys. Jake gave each of us big pistols to wear while we were up there.
After 3 or 4 days, the person in charge of the mules would come back and take us home. Jake would develop the photos I had taken and then compare them with his maps. He would then instruct us where to dig next time.
Eventually, we lost faith in Jake due to his numerous broken promises of giving us some money. After that, he stopped contacting us. So, I decided to call the Attorney General of Arizona, Bob Corbin, who was also a Dutchman hunter. After I identified myself and explained that my brother and I were working for Jake, Bob said, "We nabbed him this morning at the hotel."
That's when Jake was arrested and charged with fraud.
I still can't believe we had those experiences. It was wild.

This is a story I have never heard about. I knew the story of Crazy Jake, but not the encounter with Clay or the phone call to Tom.

The numbers "462" represent location of a certain mine. The number 4 tells you how many turns it takes to reach the mine. The number 6 tells you that you need to be 6 meters from the last turn. And the number 2 tells you the mine portal or entrance is 2 meters off the ground.
