So Buck didn't know his first name was Andrew because in the military, at least the U.S. military, everyone refers to each other by their last name. It's the name printed on your uniform. I have friends from the Army whose first names I couldn't recall if you put a gun to my head. Just like I'm sure you have friends whose last names you don't know.
that belgian nurse was actually a real woman. Renee Lemaire. her fiancee was a jew who had been arrested. the night she died in the bombing, she had saved 6 wounded soldiers and was killed going back for a 7th. I think its really cool that they included her in the show, but it makes it even more heartbreaking to know she was a real woman who died doing that.
You mentioned "that's going to haunt him for the rest of his life". Babe Heffron wrote an autobiography with Bill Gurnere. John Julian was killed on January 1st 1945. Babe said he never celebrated new years day for the rest of his life. Not trying to bring you down just wanted to give you that info.
I really like how you analyze the scenes without overanalyzing them. You get to the crux of things. This is also a show that makes me emotional. It's nice to be emotional together.
Ok, so now I'm staying up too late binge watching your lovely reactions to this great show. Love your emotional responses, your observations, and you are a sweetheart.
The nurse was based on a real life hero. Renee Lemaire a Belgian nurse who stayed to treat the wounded of the Battle of the Bulge and sadly died going back into the church evacuating the last of the wounded. Also the nurse from the Congo was Augusta Chiwy who lived to the ripe old age of 94 when she passed away outside Brussels a few years ago. Both incredibly brave women
Hi there im watching all youre reaction to each episodes of Bob kinda late.. Haha but just want to say that finally i found someone who gets so sensitive and emotional to every episode of this show and i really cried again while watching youre reaction....btw doc roe is really one of my favorite character through out.
@@JulietteReacts Haha...Yep Dick is really a good man and Lipton is really perfect leader. I surely and clearly observe you fancieng Nix😄but well cant blame you😉... Thanks really for reacting to BOB.. Honestly when i first watched this with someone im the only one crying.. So i totally enjoyed and cried again with you through out youre reactions..😊
This is probably my favorite episode of the series. Amazingly, the entire Bastogne set, forest, snow, trees, was all one giant set in an airplane hangar. They filled it with dirt, fake snow, fog, and synthetic trees, then darkened the hangar for night. In day, they edited the grey sky in post. What an amazing set.....
I love how you find symbolism in all the little things throughout the series ❤ you are amazing!! And don't worry...i am just as emotional as you are hahahha. It is bad enough that my brothers would laugh at me crying over sad commercials on tv etc. Hahaha
Well I don't mind watching it again, this is probably my favorite episode in Band of Brothers. I love the symbolism and so bitter sweet at the end besides you almost never see the war from a medics perspective.
Royalmerc Being that I was a medic, I really appreciated that they spent an entire episode showing what those incredibly brave men went through. To go into combat, without a weapon & put themselves in harm’s way, solely to keep injured men alive puts a special pressure on a person.
My Dad was a Medic in Bastogne. Medics weren’t supposed to be shot- the Allies didn’t shoot at German Medics, but the Germans fired on Allied Medics, who had to go to the front lines to treat the wounded. My Dad never spoke of the war & I was a kid when he died, so I knew nothing about his Bronze Star, his experiences at the concentration camps, until after my Mom died & my sister found his medals & photos he took. If only I could talk to him today….
I was a US Army Critical Care Nurse with two tours in Iraq.. I can kinda understand what these combat medics went through, my experience was nowhere near as severe.. but I’m still very f@caked up by it.. war really sucks..
Bastogne was the most heroic moment in the history of the 101st, and, one of the most outstanding examples in US military history. The 101st, and, some elements of the 10th armored were completely cut off, encircled, and, under constant attack by Kampfgruppe Piper, who were made up of crack SS troops, supplied with the BEST weapons & equipment the Germans could gather this late in the war. They could receive no air support, or, supply drops, because of the weather. When the Germans asked for their surrender, Gen. McCauliffe replied with one word, "Nuts".
Worst job in the military has to be a medic. Knowing everytime a medic is called for is never in a good light. I'd imagine it's probably a very lonely feeling being the one who is to be the first responder to try and control a life or death situation.
We cannot forget, for any reason, world war two. People sufferd and died. And we cannot forget them. The good and the bad. The helpers and the bad. Its march 25 2020. Stay home. Nurses and doctors recognitions. They are the heroes now. Soldiers were once but they are now.

Ha! Really? I definitely do. I just find it emotionally tough. Mentally stimulating though. I definitely wouldn't cry if I didn't feel invested. It just makes me very sad.
Not the reupload you were looking for, I know! Don't worry - The Pacific Iwo Jima Part 2 is coming up now.

Ooft. Very grim.
💔 That’s heartbreaking, but at the same time, it’s sort of good to know the man was always remembered.
wow that’s incredible

Best Episode of the Series. Saw it when it first Aired. Still burns in my memory.

I love your BOB reaction videos. They point put a lot of things I didn't understand.
I noticed that UA-cam blocked your reaction to episode 5. Sorry I missed it. I'm enjoying your reactions. Although a little late...👴

after a while you dont want new friends because they get killed. when you realise how many losses they had you can understand why
I’m not sure if you have found out yet but smoky the paralyzed man ended up regaining use of his legs
ep 5 was taken down for copy right
Hi, did " BoB 1X5 " disappear from the UA-cam? " Crossroads " if I recall.
Keeps getting blocked. I'll dispute it once Generation Kill has finished being disputed sigghhhh
I see .I did not know.Strange. Thank you. I just finished your reactions to " The Pacific ". Thanks for those too.
Really sad episode 3 and 5 were blocked :(
Will try to upload them tomorrow. My ankle is broken so having a hard time getting to a computer. If only mine wasn't broken!

do you have a patreon ?
part 2 of ep 8 is coming up unavalable
Even now? It was copyrighted and I've reuploaded it now: ua-cam.com/video/Rosy-AwAUyg/v-deo.html
Hmpf...HBO blocked episode 5
Hmm I disputed that. Wonder why it's not sorted.
I hope the copyright thing doesn't have something to do with Article 13 passing.
Oh don't worry. Most of my videos are copyrighted - I just don't usually both reuploading. But yeah, would rather things not get worse!
Can't watch episode 5 "crossroads" won't let me.
Thanks for the heads up. Must've been claimed. I'll file a dispute.
I'm confused ;-)
Hahaha! Annoyingly I waa re-uploading this when the new ep got copyrighted. It'll be 40 minutes.

Word of advice. When you stop showing the video stop the fucking audio!
16 Million Americans served in uniform in World War II....which means there are 16 million stories of sacrifice in one form or another.
