Mangrove forest is an important ecosystem as protection for coastlines and estuarine. They are crucial habitat for a lot of different species as well as preventing soil erosion. Mangrove forest provide support as it can withstand high salinity besides having a great mechanism that able to survive in flooding area.
Human impact such as dredging, filling, water pollution from herbicides and development can lead to mangrove erosion and habitat destruction. When mangrove forests are cleared and destroyed, they release massive amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change.
