  • With the duck shooting season (1st September to 31st January) almost upon us. I decided to take a run down to the one of the ponds that i shoot ducks on. i went down to put out some feed for the ducks in the hope of building up there numbers for the shooting season ahead. I feed mainly rolled barely & flake maize. In addition i also feed left over vegetable peelings.
    Equipment Used:
Camera - GoPro Hero 3+ 'Silver'
Dogs - Cocker Spaniel's 'Jack' & 'Sweep', English Springer Spaniel 'Max'

Cheers. It was vegetable peelings, mainly potatoes peelings. The ducks seem to like it when they start to rot and go soft.

how often do u put feed down

    •  5 років тому +1

We put down feed every few days. Although it depends on if they are eating it or not. If they good isn’t being touched, no point putting anymore down.

Hunting times very true, looking forward to getting out for a shot soon. No all the duck are wild. Mainly Mallard & Teal.

good stuff. I was talking to a mucker last week to see if Tommy Mayne would supply him with at least 2000 ducks and feed to get the population of wild ducks up.. they'd be released all around the north. Fingers crossed that it'll happen.

Fair play, Would be a good initiative to be involved in. What part of the north are you from?

shadowhunter springer4life it is vegetable peelings, I always put the leftover vegetables and peelings out. When the start to rot the ducks love them.
