Thank you pastor David. I am listening to your teaching over and over again so that I could evaluate my faith. Without faith it is definitely impossible to please God. I believe that God really exists.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (August 8), Hebrews 11:1-8, 13-16, was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "A Necessary Faith" or "The Meaning of Faith." The hymn, "Wait for the Lord," (Taize Community) is a good hymn to compliment this Scripture, regardless of denomination.

love this teaching. I am doing a fasting and prayed about it and this verse came to my mind. I am really unable to do it without faith in my Jesus that he will sustain me and keepi me going today and always.

21 century American Christian version of living as a sojourner - buy property, house, land stacking up treasure on earth worth $10,000s, 100,000 dollars just like the non-sojourners (unbelievers) around.
And when you're a pastor and preach on this text - because you yourself have 100,000s dollars worth of property, you can't go into the practical part of living as a sojourner but have to zip through it in a slick manner.
