The more powerful engine was a
8-cyl. 315cid/ 230 to 260hp 4bbl
The V-8 engine, with its added displacement, contributed up to 53 hp. The lineup welcomed a new flagship, the Dodge Custom Royal, featuring a more potent standard V-8 and additional trim, including small "fins on top of fins." Both Royal and Custom Royal models offered two-door Lancer hardtops and four-door sedans, while the Royal also included a station wagon and the Custom Royal featured a convertible and hardtop sedan. Tri-color paint schemes, captivating and popular, adorned both models.

My Dad bought a 1956 Dodge Texan new . It was green and white with twin antennas . He was going up to my Moms Dads farm back around 1960 and was passing a 18 wheeler on SH 75 between Huntsville and Centerville and couldn't make it around the Big Truck in time and ending up passing in a no passing zone . The next thing he knew red lights in the rear view and it was a State Trooper . The Trooper wanted to know what he did to the motor cause he told my Dad if he hadn't pulled over he would of not caught him . My Dad told him he hadn't done anything to the motor .

This Dodge once belonged to my brother. His other Dodge's are also at this junk yard.
